DA YAK SHAK — Local services in Au Train Township

The customer service part was just lackluster,we had last minute cancellation with previous kayaking company because of ripped current by Lake Superior so we ended up looking for an alternative option for kayaking we found this place online called check for availability lady on phone was accommodating and friendly. We got there we were referred to young lady who was assisting another customer we waited a bit for us to be walk through to kayak options and packages but it ended up like self explanatory when it was out turn. The you gentlemen who assisted us with our kayak gave us directions where to meet up for drip off point where rented kayak was pick up drop off that’s how it was no further instructions..Handed paddle and life jacket and your...

Beautiful scenery! The only down side is that they didn't give good instructions for where to get off. The bridge/port had signs saying PRIVATE and not to use it, so we looked at the other side and it said a different company, so we kept going. You can't see the parking area from on the river, so we couldn't see our car. A sign saying Da Yak Shak would've been nice. We ended up doing the 5-6 hour trip instead of the 3-4 hour trip. Had a great paddle down the au train river! Super nice and informative. Several options for a trip (short or long) they take you to drop your vehicle at the end of the trip then take you and the kayaks to drop at the beginning. Gave you lots of options on kayaks and trips, no pressure just let you choose what you wanted. Super friendly and answered any questions. I enjoyed this kayak trip (@ 3 hours) more than the painted rocks kayaking just for the nice relaxing river. Several places to stop and hang out and restrooms to accommodate along the way.
