I've been heavier set nearly all my life. After reaching my highest weight ever about a year ago I sought out an endocrinology specialist. He helped me, but I also realize importance of incorporating a commitment to making healthier choices (which includes being more active/performing some type of exercise) on a consistent basis.
Like most others my usual day consists of tons of other responsibilities that DO NOT FOCUS on self care. I am trying to change this narrative slowly but surely.
I needed the accountability that Infinity Wellness offers. But beyond accountability every team members' goals include motivating you at each session. I don't feel judged at all. This is important to me because for me my size is directly linked to my self esteem. Part of reaching out to Infinity Wellness required me to overcome my self consciousness.
After my initial powwow with Cam I was surprised for him to tell me my own story was very similar to other participants!
So I decided to start going to Infinity twice weekly. Fast forward about 2 months later: I have toned up and can fit in smaller pants size. The days I go to my sessions I feel better about myself, sleep better, do not experience as much head hunger.
The team at Infinity Wellness is about building a relationship with its participants and helping each person accomplish his/her own specific goals. I want to invest in my long term health goals and need IW's influence in my life.
1 year later update: From when I started last Summer I’m down about 30 pounds…at least 2-3 sizes smaller in my clothes, stronger with more endurance. It took me over 6 months though to improve my endurance. Another thing I added the last couple of months is more cardio. I like to stay after my workout and walk on treadmill. I try to walk for an hour and am gradually increasing my walking speed too. This week I walked 4 days straight! I like wearing Myzone arm band (provided by Infinity Wellness) to track my efforts. Last month in July I burnt over 7000 calories, worked out over 1000 minutes.
I have a lot of guilt if I miss a scheduled workout or show up in a cranky mood because I feel fatigued. But the trainers remind me everyone has days where we are just not at our best. Just show up. If I miss a workout we get back on schedule the next week. I started fasting this week and with my increased activity level I’ve been feeling the best physically, emotionally, spiritually than I have felt in years past. I’m finally seeing why people become gym rats because I’m actually enjoying moving my body again.
If you read this far I also decided to have breast reduction surgery early in the year. I took almost 2 months off training sessions to heal. On my return, trainer again customized workouts until I healed further and could do more upper...
Read moreI decided in 2021 I needed to take charge of my health before I succumbed to type 2 diabetes and other health issues that I knew were on my horizon. I decided to check Infinity Wellness. Cam is one of the nicest, down the earth people I met. I felt immediately at ease with him and his great staff.
The focus of the gym is not getting to a certain number on the scale but your overall holistic health. The scale is never brought up unless you want to check it. If you want, they will tailor make meal plans for you. Keto, low calories, Mediterranean etc., whatever it is, they can help you with that. They provide access to 2 app that help me keep track of the exercises I am doing and the calories recommended.
Trainers are superb. I have been working with Evan for 3 months now. He is very focused on me doing the exercises correctly and pushing myself a little more each time. All trainers are super nice and very welcoming.
I can say with all honestly I feel better and have every confidence I will stay with the gym for the foreseeable future. The gym itself is quiet and clean. Equipment are excellent and the trainers teach you correct form so no worries if you have no clue about weight lifting or rowing. There are 2 showers equipped with towels, soap and shampoo. I really recommend this place to anyone is looking to overhaul their mental and physical life to a more...
Read moreI started with Infinity Wellness in March 2023 and haven’t looked back. From my first conversation with Cam, to touring the studio, to being matched with the trainer that was perfect for me, my expectations have not only been met but far exceeded. There is something special about the entire staff caring enough to learn each client by name. My trainer, Red, took the time to ask about my specific goals and then developed a comprehensive plan that addresses all of my objectives. Workouts are always challenging but fun, and it has been gratifying to see steady progress in a relatively short period of time. Red is not only extremely knowledgeable about exercise and fitness but also passionate about helping others achieve their goals. He pushes me to work hard while always providing support and encouragement along the way. His energy and enthusiasm are contagious, and he is a phenomenal motivator. Red sees the potential in his clients even when they struggle to see it in themselves. I also appreciate his adaptability in coming up with alternative but equally effective exercise options when I want to do something different from what he originally had planned. I cannot speak highly enough about the folks at Infinity Wellness. They are a special group of people dedicated to improving the lives of everyone who walks through their door....
