Computer Central — Local services in Augusta

So, I always try to leave the most honest, factual reviews. In fairness, I have never done business with Computer Central, nor will I... I called about a laptop keyboard issue. The gentleman I spoke with quoted me between $69.99 and $159.99 to replace the keyboard, and he told me that you can't replace just a single key. I then asked my office manager to go to the location, and get a more defined quote based on their free estimate. The person she spoke with quoted her $229.99 and again told her that you can't replace just one key. Also told her 7 to 10 days to get the computer back. I went online and purchased the missing key and mounting bracket, installed it in just under five minutes, and the total cost was $13.74. So, ethics would appear to be marginal. I would advise anyone looking for computer repair to make sure you do your homework before you agree with their "estimate". Seems they like a 1700 percent markup...

So my Mom's computer broke down and needed repair. I talked her into not using Geek Squad and to let me find someone to repair it. Whatever you do, please don't use Geek Squad. I knew more about the issue with a tablet of mine than they did. I'm not a professional so I don't have that skill-set to fix electronics. I decided to inquire about Computer Central and the services they offer. I'm not easily impressed, I'm extremely picky about who touches my computers. From the short discussion with Ike, I was immediately impressed and trusted that they knew what they were doing. I took my Mom's computer to them. They got it fixed and purring like champ. Moshed here several months ago. My Xbox was having cooling issues and I new that it needed to be cleaned. Called in to ask how much a cleaning was for an Xbox Series X. I believe I spoke with Jeremy and he said that it’s $80. I was thinking that was a bit high on the price for a cleaning. He said that he goes in, cleans out the dust, and puts thermal paste down on the CPU.
