**I was reached out to by the establishment and they were very kind and accommodating, and while my experience is still documented below I want to preface it by saying I believe this was not their best showing. Many others have had good experiences, and I do not want to hinder their business.
So, this was not the experince I was expecting, to say the least. Myself and my partner visited Austin and decided to do the 'Brunch, Barbeque, Brewery' tour. It's advertized as being a 3 hour tour for 89.99 USD per person, with multiple stops and multiple drinks. With the canadian exchange rate this was a little steep, even moreso with the mandatory 22% gratuity tacked on, but after watching a couple of experinces on youtube we thought it would be worth the price.
We couldn't have been more wrong.
First, we started at a Brewery at 11 am, where the first food we were given was barbeque from 'La barbeque' Which was delicious. I should say, this review has nothing to do with the resturaunts and buisnesses, each place had good food and drink, but the experince and price for what was given was horrible. We waited at this first stop for quite a while for some late guests, which was fine as it was literally the only place I felt like I could enjoy my drink and food. At the same spot we were given half a chicken burger from a food truck, which was probably the best thing on the tour.
The next place we went was a funky coffee shop/brewery, where we were rushed though trying to pick a two small glasses of beer from their list along with being given one breakfast taco which was sitting in a little warmer. They were ice cold and flavourless, so definitely not great. The beer was good however but because we were rushed and had barely walked a block from the last spot, I had a hard time getting through the beers and probably only drank half of them and we were on the move again.
The next spot was a taco truck, which was good but I could barely eat it because I was already filled up with beer and food which, again, was maybe 45 mins from the first spot. I took a couple of bites which was honestly good and I wish I could have enjoyed it.
Finally we walked to another resturaunt where we were given pre-prepared french toast which was cold, a lovely whipped butter, and a lemon cocktail which also tasted pretty nice. I was sipping on my drink when the tour guide thanked us for coming and I was pretty shocked that we were one. From start to finish, it was maybe an hour and a half, including the time we were waiting for the...

Saw a Groupon and decided to try it out, and it was a wonderfully delicious decision. I went with a few people and we decided to take the SoCo tour. I consider myself somewhat of an Austin foodie, so I was very excited to see what else there was that I wasn't in the known about. And there were a few places that I hadn't been to! It was a 3 hour walking tour that included coffee from Jo's with a treat from La Mexicana bakery, Snack Bar, Hopdoddy, Hey!...You Gonna Eat or What?, The Woodland, Gรผero's Taco Bar, and ending at Home Slice Pizza.
All of the food was included in the price of the tour and each place gave a pretty generous helping of a featured dish, along with a story of the establishment. Come hungry.
Andy, the owner, was our tour leader for the day and he was great!
I also did the free Whole Foods tour a few weeks down the road and enjoyed that as well. Though there weren't as many goodies, I did learn a lot about Whole Foods (my favorite grocery store) that I never would have known. The tour guide was one of the employees at the Healthy Selection station and he helped us to understand so much about why Whole Foods does what it does and how meticulous they are in everything they do.
I am definitely interested in going on another tour in the...
ย ย ย Read moreWe were in town for the weekend from LA and have done good tours and cooking classes all over the world. We thought the Luxe Brunch Tour sounded good. Wow, were our expectations exceeded!!!
We lucked out by having both Adam and Eric on the tour. They have a combined 40 something years of food industry expertise and it SHOWED. They took us to four super hot places and we truly felt like we were getting a true, insider access to the Austin.
First off, Adam and Eric were very knowledgeable about food while being genuinely funny, witty and personable. We had inside jokes by the first stop. They gave us background on each spot before we went there, hooked us up with interesting info on each neighborhood, but gave us enough space to visit and enjoy each tasting.
We went to four different pockets of Austin and sampled everything from: breakfast sandwiches, cold brew coffee, mimosas, golden egg donut things, dim sum, southern biscuits, cinnamon pancakes, okra egg dish and much more.
We were full at the end and fully satisfied. Wish they would expand to LA. We would hit this up again next time we...
