Blue Velvet is my favorite part of Austin. I recently moved up to the Fort Worth area and miss it so much. And to all the people saying they thought it was cramped and didn’t love the staff, I feel like the charm of Blue Velvet is just that, and a lot of people take introverts the wrong way, so I can see why someone might think the staff is rude. The shop is fairly small and can get a little cramped if there are more than about five people in there, but they manage to fit an impressive number of vintage clothing items and accessories from different decades into the limited space that they have. You'll definitely want to give yourself enough time to look through everything, as a lot of great items can get kind of buried on the racks. I was then told they had another pair and I could purchase them if I would like and that’s the reason they are priced at $10 it’s 1:43 on a Sunday and they aren’t the only vintage store in Austin.
