Wrote the below about a week ago, but realized it was posted in a different location. Just wanted to make sure it was here too. It sounds like I am experiencing what it seems many on here have too. It takes a month for the furniture to get delivered and there is barely an apology given. I’ll be without a couch for 4.5 weeks. Just want to give people a heads up on how long you’ll be waiting for your furniture.
(Previously written) TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. First my boyfriend and I picked out a couch while at the store. It got delivered to our apartment, which is in a new building and can accommodate moving in large furniture. They said they couldn't fit it in the stairwell or the elevator. That was obviously a major let down, especially because we had gotten rid of our old couch to make room for the new one.
When I called to see what our options were, they said we can return it, but pay a 20% restocking fee, have a company take it apart for a price they didn't know or exchange it for another couch. We decided to exchange it, but still had to pay another delivery fee even though nothing was delivered the first time. We were in between two couches that we were told would fit. We chose one over the other because the sales person on the phone said one wouldn't be here until the second week of December and the other would only take 1.5 weeks (I called on November 15th). The timeline was what sold us on the couch that would arrive sooner.
I called on November 20th to see if there was an expected delivery date and the same sales person said it wouldn't be delivered until the second week of December. I thought he was referring to the other couch and clarified which one we had ordered. He confirmed it and said that he said the second week of December. He said that he would not have said 1.5 weeks, inferring that I'm a liar. Had we known that both couches wouldn't be delivered until the second week of December we either would've chosen a different one or just returned it and paid the restocking fee. We wanted to have a couch during the holidays and now it seems we'll be lucky if we have one by Christmas.
We are now without a couch for a month. We would not have gotten updated on the NEW expected delivery time frame unless...
Read morevery poor experience. i had a bad feeling when the delivery truck showed up and it was a subcontracted service. we had a dinning room set, table , 4 chairs, and a bench delivered and because of so called miss communication with the service and store the table was not assembled. the drivers did not call the store to ask questions, my girlfriend did. but the drivers did not stick around they bolted. going to talk to the salesman today. if everything is not assembled free of charge the set is being returned and we will purchase from somewhere else. funny thing is the drivers offered to assemble just the chairs for $150 fee. the store manager said they can come back in a couple of days and assemble the table. sorry i'm not taking time from work for your poor service. which will now push assembly out to the weekend. but since chairs were not originally supposed to be assembled because of expedited delivery they are not offering it without a fee. really? you would think that they would offer compensation for a horrible delivery experience. paying $1500 and scheduling your day around a delivery window only to get boxes dropped off, nothing assembled. should i start whittling the wood also? pretty sure affordable furniture is getting a dinning set back. we paid a delivery fee to have boxes delivered!!!!! we could have did that ourselves and saved $150. and they got a one star rating because google would not let me post with 0 stars!!!!! it must be a family run business because the manager chuck has no problem solving or people skills except to say sorry and it's no big deal only putting 4 legs on a table. he definitely would not be a manager otherwise. really chuck? i would say be and do better but i think you have been doing this way too long to...
Read moreI'll start with the good:
The first associate who helped us get the furniture was great. We went in February, he was respectful, kind and very helpful. The problems arose when we left. One: we didn't get our furniture on time because they ordered the wrong bed frame size, so they called to tell us we had to wait an additional 3 weeks. We called the week after to ask if we could at least get our dresser and night stand, which they assisted. The delivery men were great according to my fiancé and very professional. However, we were told that we would have to wait three more weeks just for the king size bed frame. So here we are end of March and guess what? No bed frame. Instead we have to call and check the status just to find out our bed frame is "back ordered" and we won't get it until May... May! Meanwhile I'm paying for something I don't even have, since February! What makes this worse is that we had to call to find out because no one notified us. I am very disappointed because our initial expierence when we set the order up was great as far as customer service, but I don't know what happened after that because it went...
