Decatur Estate Vintage Market — Local services in Avondale Estates

I appreciate this antique store has an abundance of retro used furniture to gaze at while most antique stores are full of goodwill rejects (i.e. trash and nick knacks). My problem with this store like so many others is that the prices are way too high for what's being offered. Seems like these types of stores are mostly museums, since no one with sense would pay $400+ for 80% of what's displayed. The atmosphere at this shop was super cool and the staff were friendly. There were some interesting pieces to look at. Not a whole lot of antiques per say, but some nice vintage finds. Just the overwhelmingly majority of the booths were over valued and some items...

Although I loved everything in this store I was felt very uncomfortable my time here. I’m assuming the older woman is the owner and I couldn’t help but notice she was actively following me around the store. At first I thought it was my imagination, but once making my purchase I realized there was a section of the store I did not see and decided to browse quickly before I left, like clockwork she was right behind me, and as soon as I turned around she stopped pretending like she was looking at something and walk back out the aisle. I had a good feeling as soon as I pulled into the parking lot, but it only got better from there! The ladies working inside are very kind and attentive, always willing to help. The store is larger than you'd expect and filled with great stuff. They've got items from a lot of different "genres" and periods.
