I am very angry at this point about The Longacre Company's heating department. This company is expecting me to pay a big price to train their technician! We were asked to pay $770 for fixing a problem as simple as the cracked insulation over electrode Here is the story. In Nov and Dec last year, they came to my house 4 times. 1st they did an annual oil furnace tune-up/cleaning ($159 paid), then days later (warmer days didn’t turn on heat), heat was not on, the first tech came, changed the TRANSFORMER, (we paid $133.34); after that we had a couple of warmer days and the heat didn't come on. 5 days later, when I tried to turn heat on, furnace didn't come on, we called and the same tech came again, and this time he changed the OIL PUMP and nozzle, still couldn't make it run, then he thought it's a problem with the ELECTRODE KIT (he spent 2 hours this time). He ordered the kit, and we waited almost 10 days to get them to come to the house again. This time, is a different tech. Once he opened the furnace and realized the part ordered was wrong and he knew right way what's wrong - cracked isolation over electrode. He went back office and picked up the part, came back and changed it. The furnace is up running ever since. But a month later, I received a bill asking me to pay $477.42, that's on top of what I already paid $292.34 ($159 + $133.42). For a simple fix - change the part (electrode kit - only cost $25), The Longacre Company is charging me a total of $769.76 - unbelievable. Tried talk to the man in charge a couple of times, the final result came back from his boss (company owner) is they can only give $112 discount on Labor. I was asking the owner's contact information, but he refused give it to me. The point here is, this company is trying to get its customers to pay for training their technicians (because they are not knowledgeable enough) and paying to change parts that were still good and any associated labor for changing good parts. Don't use this company. You may be the next one to...
Read moreCan I tell you how wonderful this company is?! Longacre Plumbing came to my home and completed in ONE DAY what another plumber couldn't get started in 2 1/2 months!! Mike, Frank, and John from Longacre in Bally, PA came to my home and determined what was needed when we experienced a clogged pipe (the sewer backed up into the laundry room) that turned into a collapsed pipe. A big job! Jackhammers, digging up pipes in the garage and more. Yikes! Mike took a look at the situation and told me what they had found, what it would take to repair it, how long it would take, and gave me an estimate. Everything they said was the honest truth and they completed the job quick, fast, and completely! It was obvious that they've done this type of job before and showed the confidence that comes with experience. They kept me in the loop as the work was being carried out. No surprises at all! I will be using this company for my kitchen remodel, for mini-split cooling and heating for my home, and more! Longacre and I are going to become very good friends! :) Thanks Mike, Frank and John!! You guys are ROCKSTARS!!
UPDATE!!! Longacre has done it again! I needed a new water pressure tank (this house is getting a facelift and more LOL) and John and Frank came this morning prepared to replace that old tank with a brand new one. They are professional, friendly, experienced and I was so happy with the work they performed that I made them some cupcakes to show my appreciation. Once they completed the work and left, I had the BEST shower I have had since I moved here in 2020! I have WATER PRESSURE!! Thanks so much, Longacre, for hiring the right people to do the important work homeowners need done. John and Frank did a terrific job and I highly recommend them and the Longacre Company! I included some photos of both the result of the pipe replacement by Mike, John, and Frank as well as the new pressure tank installed by John and Frank. Thanks guys and thanks Longacre!! I think your company is filled...
Read moreWe were faced with replacing one of our heat pumps and it was the newer of the two that we had! With having put over $2k in the older, circa 1981, unit in the past 2 years we decide to bite the proverbial bullet and replace both units. We requested 4 competitive quotes from larger HVAC companies in the area and we only received 2! So much for the theory of a poor economy! The Longacre Company showed up on time, assessed the home for the proper size units and then sent a quote within 48 hours. Using the larger companies in the area we assumed that the estimates were going to be on the high side but we were pleasantly surprised with the estimate from Longacre's.
Once the contract was singed the install was scheduled and the crew that showed up was as professional as I could have imagined. Their quality of workmanship in how the unit looked was impeccable. Every wire was neatly placed every line was secured in a way as not to impede access, the system layout was well thought out and looks great. They took their time every night (the install took 4 days) to explain what they did and what the next steps would be. They were insistent about using shoe covers and drop cloths despite my pleas not too.
These guys have a customer for life!
Bravo...
