China House — Restaurant in Bally

My wife and I have been waiting for and looking forward to this place opening ever since we saw it getting built/turned into China house. So we tried it for the first time tonight. Keep in mind we regularly get Chinese from another local place that we absolutely love, so we may be tough critics only because we're so used to something. So I'll try to be a little thorough w my review. Customer service was great. The woman who took my order was nice and took my order just fine. Went to store, nice and clean, they were busy which was great to see. Always nice to see a new biz do good. The food: we ordered sweet and sour chicken w veg fried rice, steamed dumplings, egg rolls, crab Rangoon and I always get an order of plain (no meat) lo mein. All in all it was good! There wasn't anything I'd say we didn't like or was bad. Few things that were obviously different than our usual Chinese restaurant. The chicken was good, and they give you a lot. A bit bland but not bad. The dumplings which are a make it or break it thing for me we're good too. Some places their dumplings have really thick dough and I don't like that... Not this place. They were good. It was basically like a noodle which in my opinion is how it should be. The egg rolls I liked a lot. The Rangoon was good too. My wife loved her rice. One little thing though (and it might sound silly but).... No fortune cookies?!?! Haha, gotta throw a few of those in. All in all a good place to get some Chinese food right near bally. Will they permanently steal our business from our usual place.....I don't think so, but I'd definitely go back. I hope this review helps as they're a new business and people don't know what to expect. But nice people, good food and I wish...

Me and my husband took a drive to the China house the day after Thanksgiving. We walked in picked up a menu checked off what we want it, we were standing in line for about 15 minutes, I looked at the person taking the orders and she said that she will be with me in a moment. Another 10 minutes passed by and once again I asked her when are you going to take our order she said not right now I have to take care of the online orders and the phone orders. We were still standing online for about 30 minutes I asked her again are you gonna take our order she straight out said no. This was when my husband and I walked out of the restaurant and said we will never go there again we were completely ignored. I like the food here from China House. When they first opened, the spicy dishes were too spicy for me (which is saying something!) but in the last year, they tamed down the hotness of the spicy dishes. When I work from home, I like to order take-out lunch from here and they are fast and friendly. The parking lot is awkward, especially trying to see traffic from the left, to turn left from the lot.
