I want to start out by saying i am a new home owner and got away from Oil heat and installed a propane furnace for my home. I contacted eddingers due to a great reputation as well as just about everyone there is a firefighter and do the best to protect everyone in need. I have never had an issue with them and with all the issues with other contractors messing up my new house they were the first ones to come in and install my tanks right where I wanted them and in a VERY professional manor. I had the tanks placed a good distance from my house behind a garage and they tapped right into the line I ran inside the house. With all the frustration of these other company's destroying my house and property it was a MAJOR relief to finally have someone come and do a professional job. After the tanks were filled I called the office and talked to Liz who informed me they would be out Monday to fill the tanks as they needed a chance to rest after being installed, but they ended up coming the Saturday before Monday when they said they were going to fill them (I couldn't be happier!). I have come to love eddingers and the professional staff they employ and will continue to use them for years. The fuel prices have been competitive if not cheaper then any other company I looked into and that helps me know im getting the best bang for my buck. Im not sure what all the other ratings on here are talking about people being rude or "yelling" at the customer but I do know that if you don't pay your bill you wont get gas which i can totally understand and ALL the propane and oil company's do it so why is it different that eddingers does it? these people work hard in the cold to keep you warm and do a damn good job at it. If i could rate eddingers higher then 5 stars I would and I would also recommend anyone looking to switch company's to...
Read moreI switched to Eddinger to fill my house's propane tank a little over a year ago. When our house was built, the builder had Amerigas install the tank, as they gave him a free water heater. Unfortunately, that meant that Amerigas owned the tank (buried in the ground) and I was forced to use them for propane refills. Their prices were horrible and their service was bad too. And one year they were low on propane and couldn't fill my tank for weeks! I was so angry that I couldn't get my propane from elsewhere and they didn't have any to sell me....
I live close to Eddinger's store, so I went to talk to them one day. The guy working there (maybe the owner?) told me that I could call Amerigas and ask to buy the tank from them. He told me to call the national (not local) office and told me the phrases to use. He also told me what a new tank would cost, and pretty much what price would make sense to buy the tank from them, versus paying to have the old one dug out and removed and a new tank installed. Anyways, I did as he said, and surprisingly was able to purchase my tank for a decent price. (I guess a 10+ year old tank loses value to them.)
After getting my bill of sale from Amerigas, I happily removed the Amerigas stickers from the tank and I called Eddinger for a fill. I had to email them a copy of my bill of sale to prove ownership, and then all was good to go. Talk about night and day experiences! Eddinger was and is awesome to deal with. Delivery is always when they say it will be, and the price is much less than what they thieves at Amerigas were charging me. I saved so much the first year after switching to Eddinger, that it paid for the cost of my tank!
I definitely recommend giving Eddinger a try. They are nice people with clean equipment and...
Read moreWe had used Eddingers for the first few years we moved into the area. We bought a 500 gallon tank from them and Mr. E. came to help install it. He was very professional.
Their equipment is always new and clean.
I am giving them 1 star however for their customer service. We had moved our 500 gallon tank to another part of the farm and bought a 1000 gallon tank. In so doing we moved our generator, which was hooked up as a backup.
While working on the move, our electrician found the cap was leaking. When he called Eddingers they argued over who was at fault and Eddingers would not come out to fix the leak until it was recognized whose fault the leak was.
As a homeowner, I care not at all about fault, I care about my house blowing up.
So I got on the phone and yelled that I had a leak, that I could care less about who's fault it was, but that it had to be fixed NOW. Only after I became upset did Eddingers agree to send someone out.
The technician was out within 20 minutes and pointed out that they've had problems with these caps before.
That was about a year ago (today is January 18, 2019).
Yesterday, we decided to reach out and get a price quote for propane. We do not have a contract with any single provider.
My assistant, Greg, came back to inform me that if I was willing to change this rating, they would be willing to work with us on the price.
It seems that it's not just good customer service Eddinger's lacks, it's ethics and...
