My husband and I saw a few other venue options before touring BWH, and it truly was love at first sight when we walked in. We really wanted a venue that was cozy and welcoming, that didnât require a lot of decorations (when we first booked this venue we were living out of state, however that changed when we had to postpone due to COVID), and where we could do ceremony/cocktails/reception all in the same venue. BWH checked all of those boxes! We decided on this venue very quicklyâŚand then COVID hit and we had to postpone our wedding a year. There were a few changes in BWH staff during that time, including Mary coming on as the coordinator instead of who we had originally been working with. When I say she (and everyone at BWH) were fantastic during this whole process, it is a huge understatement. Mary was so responsive every step of the way, and really worked hard to make sure our wedding was exactly what we wanted it to be. I am so grateful for her and so glad we were able to work with her! They were also able to honor the pricing from the original contract pre-COVID, which we were really grateful for. All of our guests loved the venue, and it really felt like being in someoneâs home during the event (which we loved). Iâm so glad we had our wedding at BWH - it was a...
Read moreMy wife and I had the privilege of celebrating our wedding reception here in November of 2023, and we believe Barringtonâs White House is perhaps the finest venue in the Chicago suburbs. The grounds and architecture of the building itself are stunning, no less the curated interior and intricate woodwork throughout. The layout of the building (ground floor being the cocktail area, upper floor being the party/reception area) is phenomenal, and their state-of-the-art commercial kitchen made meal service a breeze. In fact, our caterer praised us/BWH for having such a nice facility to prepare and serve food (elevator included!) We also really liked having a private bridal suite. Although cozy, we comfortably fit our 125 guests with no issues thanks to Mary, BWHâs event coordinator . She was a cut above the rest and ensured that we would have a great evening, staying in touch with us during the preparation phase, answering all of our questions and setting our minds at ease, working with our numerous vendors, and graciously supporting us in setup/teardown with our vision for adding and fine-tuning decorative arrangements. We would highly recommend the White House and hope you can enjoy your day there, as we did ours. Thank you Mary...
Read moreSharon Szolomeyer is the ideal hostess and venue manager, her service unmatched and highly proficient in all things wedding-planning. She was generous with her time, staying during rehearsal and helped us decorate for the ceremony! She also helped my large bridal party with timing our aisle walk while managing the music. If we lacked supplies, she was quick to offer it through the BWH or help us find a deal on where to rent. She was so mindful to even help us with details we didnât think about!
As for the site, this late 1800 historic mansion is extremely elegant and was the perfect site for our wedding party of 105! There is ample parking for all guests, easy and accessible access indoors with their elevators, and very clean.
Despite the 92 degree summer heat outside, the AC was more than sufficient for keeping it cool inside. We all fell in love with the BWHâs vintage glamour of dark wood and gold accents, which required minimal decorating on our part. We highly recommend this location for any event or a wedding of...
