Grave Concerns, succinct facts below (two employees present; management forwarded information from one hour phone call directly following):
Skinceuticals discontinued a product at the start of the year, AOX Serum 20.
Family members, myself included, have used this product in a simple skin care routine, for some time. Fortunately, Blue Mercury is accessible, whereas for others back in rural Kansas, it is not.
Skinceuticals Serum 10 was purchased and tried. It was unsatisfactory.
Shelby provided two samples of Skinceuticals CE, in recent months, for myself and my 76 year old mother.
I called Skinceuticals directly to acquire a sample for my daughter. They shared that they are sent directly to the businesses at the quarter.
For my daughter, I continued to call to check if a sample was yet available.
Today my daughter is visiting. She called Blue Mercury on our drive, asking if I wouldn't mind talking to them.
I was glad to.
My daughter has not been in this store for over two years - the employees are strangers to her.
In the call, Shelby said they had received samples.
My daughter routed the drive 40 minutes to there.
She was excited to finally get to try it for herself.
She went in. Shelby and an employee whose name was later withheld, were there.
The unnamed employee aggressed my daughter stating, "You get a lot of samples. Do you want to buy it? I'm glad to sell it."
The unnamed employee then said, "We do not have that specific sample. We do not receive them anymore and will not ever again. We called you and left a message and told you that. "
My daughter was overcome and confused. These people were entirely unfamiliar to her and she had not received a phone call in the prior hour.
When she rejoined, I was stunned.
I called (from her phone) to inquire about the employee's name.
The person on the phone introduced herself as Shelby. I asked to ask to speak with the other employee for a moment.
I was put on hold. This was 6:55, Monday, June 26th.
When the call resumed the person said she was Shelby again.
She replied that she thinks the other person is only a skincare vendor, perhaps, she said, a skincare vendor for Barbara Sturm.
Confused and a quandary, I naturally asked, "A vendor was who approached my daughter spoke at her? Why?"
She said if I showed disrespect she would have to end the call.
Further confusion.
Still not provided a name.
Parked at the restaurant where we were having supper at, nearby, I hoped to at least catch a glimpse of the bold, black print of a name tag as employees departed in a few minutes. The store is to close at 7:00.
At 7:05, the Blue Mercury front door remained opened from where our car was park.
I did not get a name.
My daughter believes this individual was maybe seeking to display an aggressive personality by nature, toward me, as she said it felt recited what this vendor was saying. I already had received my
My daughter was arriving for herself, even with my familiar voice inquiring in weeks past.
My daughter feels that is the reason thse two these strangers would barely look at her when she was being verbally acousted.
And as to why when she dialed from her personal phone, she again checked for a voicemail and baffled to even get one, there was not one.
But returning home, there was a message on my phone.
My phone number was then searched and used inappropriately.
My daughter's call log, as well as the message received on my personal phone, are saved.
The confusion was manifold as Shelby had been been pleasant as an employee should be displaying; I reiterated this fairly.
On June 4th when I called the store to ask if the new Avene facial cleanser was in stock. I confirmed they were open until 7:00. They said they were going to leave at 6:30. They said they would stay, though just as soon as I could arrive. I think there was concern of that being reported and I was offered, oddly, multiple samples. I stated I didn't...
Read moreI have been to many bluemercury’s across Chicagoland this was by far the best experience I have had yet! The store was clean, well organized, fully stocked and had an amazing energy. Kristin and Shelby were super helpful, kind and made my shopping experience a true delight. The customer service was top notch as they provided loads of advice and suggestions throughout. And no they did not follow me around they let me wander while being available when I was ready- that’s so uncommon these days- and was refreshing!! They even provided free samples for some of my wish list items. It was such a nice afternoon that I called my friends after I left and told them visiting the Barrington BlueMercury was well worth it! Thank...
