L.L.Bean — Local services in Barrington Township

I went there on a Tuesday to order a jacket. They told me they didn’t have it in stock. I told him that’s not a problem. Can I order it? They said sure. I then told him hey I need to have it by Friday. Do you guys offer expedited shipping? The gentleman said yes we do. It’s only $15. I said not a problem. I just needed to be guaranteed by Friday. The gentleman Dennis said no you don’t need to pay the $15. We have fast shipping don’t pay for it and I said are you sure I need this by Friday? I do not mind paying the extra money to guarantee it by Friday And he said no just pay the normal standard rate.

I called Customer Service to let them know that I did not receive any emails about this issue and they could care less. Then while I was talking to her, she said they shipped today and I told her that that’s not what the gentleman told me. She said there was nothing she can do I asked could you give me a location in the state of Illinois that has this product that I need and she said the only store that has it is our home location in Maine.

She told me in a very clear voice that even if I ordered it for you today, you still wouldn’t get it on Saturday or Monday.

Thank you, Dennis for ruining a birthday gift. Also, thank you to the customer service agent who didn’t give a care. Makes me really double think about spending my money at L.L. Bean. Even then, once I told him I’ll spend more money for the Expedited shipping just let me pay that money and give me a guarantee date

Store employees are helpful and friendly. Selection is somewhat limited, and on-line shopping will likely get you the sizes you desire. The store is wonderful for returns and sale items (if they are in stock for your size). Store is clean and well lit. There is handicapped accessible parking right out front. The store is easy to get to right off Higgins Rd. Store is located on first floor. Parking is ample, and the parking lot is well maintained. Other stores in the Arboretum are also close by. At the time I was there (November) they had a 10%-off event, and then gave out $10 gift certificates for future purchases that occurred...

Wow, I've never encountered such friendly staff. Mr. Andy was more than helpful in guiding my decision of knives and was funny and nice even when my mom and I had dumb questions. He also helped me out with my Thule roof rack questions. He even said he loved working for the company as it has great values. What can beat a positive attitude like that, right? Later that night I called in because I thought I left my ipod behind. Even after closing time, the staff was super nice and even checked the store for me (turns out, I actually left it somewhere else, oops). I will definitely return to this...
