Animal Care Center of Barrington is an absolutely outstanding vet office, both the dental department and main care department. You will get excellent care for your pet. Here's my story:
After I discovered a mass in my dog's mouth, my vet referred me to the dental specialty department at Animal Care Center of Barrington.
They were able to fit us in for an exam the very next day, and scheduled the biopsy for 3 days later. Because it was such a serious situation, it was so amazing they were able to get my dog seen and taken care of so quickly. My dog felt so comfortable there despite having a reactive and anxious temperament.
In the initial exam, Dr. Washington was able to easily examine inside my dog's mouth which my regular vet was not able to do. She spent a lot of time with me answering all of my questions. The vet techs were also all incredibly kind and knowledgeable. The office provided a detailed estimate for her diagnostic procedure, which included anesthesia/CT imaging/biopsy/tooth extraction, and it broke down the cost of every item involved. During the procedure where she was there for several hours, they kept in contact with me every step of the way.
Ultimately, my dog's mass was a malignant oral cancer, it had spread into the bone and it was in an inoperable location. They prescribed us pain meds so she could be as comfortable as possible. Since my dog was so much more comfortable with this vet office compared to my regular vet, I asked if they could perform euthanasia services for her when the time came, and they said they absolutely would (even though my dog and I were not clients of their main care dept).
The euthanasia process was so calming and supportive. They had this amazing room set up for us that had couches and pretty decorations, a comfy blanket on the floor, lots of tissues, and jars of treats and chocolates. Dr. Hughes performed the euthanasia, and she was so kind, patient, and comforting. My dog went very peacefully, eating Reese's peanut butter cups :)
I'm so thankful that it was this vet office that provided care for my dog and helped me navigate her cancer in her final weeks of life. They made an extremely painful situation easier to deal with. I wish they had been her primary care provider throughout her life.
Here's a photo of Eevee in the waiting room for her followup appointment - it was so amazing that she was calm enough in a vet's office to lie down that I had...
Read moreAmazing! This review is long overdue! We would give 10 stars if we could! We tell everyone who will listen how great they are! We absolutely love ACCB and so does our dog, Stabler! He absolutely adores Rachel, Traci, Ellie, and Holly! They take such great care of him at all times! We have used pretty much every service they offer. Even the front desk is wonderful and treats you like VIP!
Daycare - We originally tried a different doggy daycare and it did not go well. They would put our dog in “timeout” frequently bc he plays too much. We decided to switch to ACCB and what a difference! They rotate play groups with no more than 8 at a time and always the same level of energy! He has never had an issue here! He makes friends with everyone he plays with! The staff all love him! They also have a Snapchat where they show pictures and videos throughout the day!
Grooming - They do have a professional groomer on site but they also offer kennel baths. Holly does phenomenal job at bathing and trimming his nails!
Boarding - Our dog is very anxious when left alone at home so we try not to as much as possible. This means he gets boarded, sometimes 1 night and as much as 10 days for vacation! They offer 3 different boarding levels and we try to always go with premium, sometimes luxury. They always confirm feeding schedules, meds, Toys, etc.
Vet - They have vet services on site. We have used the vet services a few times. Once our dog was licking his paw frequently during daycare. The staff noticed, called us and asked if we would like the vet to take a look. They did and were able to prescribe an ointment all while he was there for daycare. He also was able to get shots he needed. Another time during boarding he ran out of his anxiety medication and they called to ask if they could refill!
Training - We also did private training and what a difference it made. The training is always positive reinforcement and treat motivation.
We could literally go on forever about ACCB! We truly love this...
Read moreI really don’t even know where to begin, there are no words to truly encompass the amount of compassion, and support that I have received from Barrington animal care center. I have 140 pound great Dane that likes to think that he’s 10 pounds. I was recommended to go there by one of my bosses, first impression was that the facility in general was absolutely breathtaking and very welcoming. I began my journey with them with having, him in daycare only. Immediately I was able to fall in love with the entire daycare staff. Rachel specifically has been nothing but an absolute support answering every single question always having a report for me just giving me such peace of mind that I can go to Work and he is safe. Her entire team is easily my favorite people. If I didn’t know any better, I would think that he almost likes going to daycare more than being at home alone. But that doesn’t fail to mention the entire front desk staff who I have had the pleasure to get to know very well just because I am there as often as I am. Everyone there has the most empathetic and kind tendencies I have ever experienced in my life. The customer service is completely completely out of this world. They always have such a good time at work and it just transpires into how they are. Maureen, Lisa, Alondra, Riley, legitimately EVERYONE that is up front is incredible. I cannot scream from the mountaintops enough how much I love this place. I will drive states away in order to be able to be one of their patients. Do not go absolutely anywhere else for any type of veterinary care. The bedside manner is out of this world. The customer service is an immaculate, and you just feel very comfortable and safe there. It’s not about the money with them. They care about your animal and they...
