Dowlen Oaks Dental — Local services in Beaumont

Love this Dentist however billing practices are very questionable. Dowlen Oaks Dental is very clean, professional and compassionate about taking good care of me except when it comes to following my insurance plan rules. I now owe a bill when I've never paid a bill on dental in 5 years. Apparently the billing office and the dentist don't communicate properly. I am confident with everything Dr Ferguson says and that's exactly what I need except they're not ordering with proper coding. I couldn't be more upset that it's not going to work out with Dowlen Oaks Dental.. at least not until they bill properly I have all the confidence in the world in the dentist It's the billing department that I have concerns with, as we all know being on Medicare means you're probably on a budget and have limited funds. When I first showed up at the window they told me I owed them $345 before they could do anything then they had the previous dentist which I didn't like because their office was moldy They had terrible x-rays and so new X-rays were needed Dowlen Dental told me there'd be no charge. I asked are you sure because I don't want to sit in this chair if I'm going to owe you any money. They assured me that there would be no charges. Next thing you know I'm being called on the phone and asked to pay. I have to say that I will post this on their Facebook page as well. People need to know before they start handing out their credit card exactly what they're being billed for and is it a correct charge. Sincerely...

Dr. Charles Ferguson, DDS was very friendly and I had a great time with the Doctor. The biggest issue is that no one at their office notified me that this doctor and the facility was Considered OUT OF NETWORK !!!! After 2 hours of exams and X-rays I get the final cost break down and then Was told that the Doctor and the facility are both out of network which is absurd to me!! . Love the provider but the staff is very shady to me. I am very upset that my Dental visit which should of been covered at 100% which it wasn't and never disclosed to me the thing that upset me the most is that they charged my AETNA INS $650s for a New patient visit and I was forced to pay 10%. Also was promised copies of X-ray but of course never received them. Great doctor but the front desk and the insurance verification team is very shady and dishonest and WILL NOT let patients know if they are incurring HIGH OUT OF POCKET COSTs!! I am so happy! I grew up in South Louisiana with a dentist as our next door neighbor. After moving to Texas, I never found another dentist who seemed to care about his patients like Doc Guidry … until I walked into Dowlen Oaks Dental. From the front office to the assistants, I felt a warm welcome. And, the office is immaculate without that uncomfortable dentist smell. Unfortunately, I recently visited a dentist who did not care. As a result, my front teeth needed work. One filling had fallen out and another was almost gone. Dr. Steele never said a negative word.
