Bought some keypad door knobs took them up to the desk you get them keyed a like at and the gentleman took down the name and phone number and said someone will call you when they are ready! He printed up the invoice and we payed. We were NEVER informed that there was a $10 rekeying charge. So when I went to pick them up today the guy took forever to look for the knobs and he could only find two of the three I bought. I said you need to go look again cause I need the third door knob I payed for it. So he put the two on the desk and went to look again. Then he came back with 3 boxes the two on the desk weren't even mine. Then an employee by the name monte or something like that came over and said you need to pay $30 for rekeying. I said uh what we were never informed of a rekeying fee. If I would have known that I wouldn’t have done it. He said very irritated and angry “there are signs everywhere over by the knobs, how did you not know”. I said I seen no signs by the doorknobs and it’s really crappy nobody told me there was a fee. Then another customer says “it’s a lot cheaper then a locksmith” that’s not the point Bob. Nobody informed me And he didn’t know what to say and handed me the picking ticket with the $30 fee and said you need to pay it. So now I’m mad so I walk over to the door knob section looking for the signs that stated rekeying fee $10 per knob. THERE WAS NOTHING….this man tried to gaslight me and was super rude. So went to the front desk and spoke with the manager at the checkout and he called monte or whatever his name was and said I’m sorry your going to have to pay it. I said that’s ridiculous but whatever it’s just $30 (which isn’t the point). This man said to me well you could just leave the keys here. I’m sorry how do you expect me to unlock the door when the battery in the keypad decides to die. I am unbelievably disappointed with the customer service I received besides the cashier at the front. I...
Read moreMy recent experience at Mansards for my home improvement needs left me with mixed feelings, primarily due to an unfortunate encounter with one of the staff members, John.
Upon entering the store, I was met with hostility and discrimination from John, whose racist behavior towards me was completely unacceptable. Despite my attempts to overlook his inappropriate conduct and focus on my shopping needs, John's disrespectful demeanor persisted, making it clear that he was unwelcoming and unwilling to provide me with the assistance I deserved as a customer.
To make matters worse, when I brought this issue to the attention of the store manager, rather than addressing the problem and ensuring that I felt valued and respected as a customer, the manager seemed more concerned with asking me to leave the premises. This dismissive response only served to exacerbate the situation, leaving me feeling deeply disappointed and disheartened by the lack of professionalism and accountability demonstrated by the store manager.
In conclusion, while I cannot speak to the overall quality of Mansards as a store due to the unfortunate behavior of one individual, I feel compelled to caution others to avoid interacting with John. Discrimination has no place in any establishment, and it is imperative that businesses take proactive measures to ensure that all customers are treated with dignity and respect. As for the store manager, their failure to address the issue in a satisfactory manner only serves to further underscore the need for improvement in their...
Read moreBack in April 2015 I went into the store to get some paint. They were busy so I waited in line. Another customer came in after me, and when the next store clerk became available they helped him first. I spoke my piece but was totally ignored. I left went to Fleet Farm down the street was helped immediately and turns out I like their paint way better then Menards so thanks for that. I mailed my 11% rebate in back in April and have yet to receive it, and I have NOT been back in any Menards since April. So I sent an email to their rebate location, and asked where my rebate was, they said it was never received, and they said to send the original invoices and rebate form in again. I explained I did not have the original receipts as I mailed them the first time. Was told I had to go to the store and get them reprinted and another form and send it again. What a waste of my time, and I was not looking forward to going back into the store. So when i finally got some time I stopped printed my receipts again got the rebate form and mailed them on 9-24-15 still have not received my rebate. I just saw an advertisement for an on going 11% rebate good luck to everyone at getting it, cuz it has not happened for me yet, still waiting since April 2015. Very UN happy with the way they do things there. I can get everything I need with MUCH better customer service then here...
