Food Lion — Local services in Bedford

If you're using EBT or like the option of store pick-up then just go to Wal-Mart to save time and reduce stress. I like foodlion for the for sales but this store in particular is being mismanaged at the moment. If you're using EBT then pay attention to make sure their system is running. I couldn't buy groceries there after shopping for more than an hour. I was told they'd be saved for pickup by the manager on duty and called when systems were back online. I waited days to hear nothing back when systems were back on a couple hours after. The people seem nice and accommodating in the moment but for some reason can't follow through with what they say they'll do. I was told they were "just too busy and the groceries were put back" with no notification. Customer service is only as good as what stores do and not what they claim to be...

Really love this Food Lion it's close by, clean and friendly. Have stopped going there now unless I need a few things and don't want to drive to Kroger.The new day staff is awful, the new front end supervisor is to busy holding up the front column and flirting with another employee working there to help out on check outs where the other one would jump in and open a register. The new check out people are awful never a thank you come back or even put your bags in your cart. They just on to the next person sitting their things in with yours. I will wait in Margaret or Debra's line for they are always smiling thank you and put your things in your cart before going on to the next person. Don't even get me get started on the manager she walks a round with an unapproachable frown...

This is the first time getting my groceries from Food Lion in years as I've always been disappointed by the quality of produce, lack of stock on the shelves and the general friendliness and cleanliness of the stores in my past experiences. However, this is the first one I've been to and I was very impressed by the cleanliness, friendliness of the staff and the selection! I came on a ReStock day so they were in the middle of unloading boxes and pallets so I'm sure if I were to come on a "regular" day the shelves will be better stocked.
