UPDATE: Since this location's grand opening, I've been shopping here at least twice a week. Seems like too many items are not being restocked fast enough. The deli area is slow. The fish is not as fresh as it should be. One purchase had bones left in the fish. The lettuce at the salad bar is sometimes not fresh. Lettuce needs to be turned around a lot as it doesn't stay fresh for very long. The check-out area is even slower. Self check-out has a lot of problems with the scanner. The plastic bags are extremely difficult to open. Still, this is a great grocery store. I hope management reads these messages and addresses these issues.
PREVIOUS POST: I think I'm in love . . . with this new grocery store. Went to the grand opening yesterday. The store was packed with customers. There were lots of workers who were friendly and helpful. The selection is outstanding. A nice selection of ready-to-cook entrees. They even sell chocolates. Beer and wine are sold here. The store is large, and the aisles are wide. One worker said to me, "If there's something you don't find here, let us know and we'll get it for you." Really? I hope so. A few drawbacks: The deli counter is very high. It's also very noisy there. I could barely hear the deli server, and she could barely hear me. The tickets at the deli counter are too high (some customer pointed out). It would like to see a kiosk at the deli, preferably at the store entrance. I did, however, notice a large selection of pre-sliced meats and cheeses. The lettuce at the salad bar could've been fresher. This is a problem at most salad bars (and I go to a lot of them). Fresh lettuces need to be added to the salad bar more frequently than other items. (Wegmans opens their salad bar with lettuce that looks like it was prepped the night before.) The spaces in the parking lot is small. With so many cars getting larger, it's aggravating when the parking spaces get smaller and smaller. Overall, an outstanding...
Read moreI find it interesting that the email to review my experience from weis is timed to the effect that I had to leave a review before my service was complete. I waited to complete said review email only to find it gone by the time I received my groceries and got home from my curbside pick up. Shady.
So here is my experience. I Placed my order online. First intending for delivery. The site showed times for 5pm onward. Yet when I went to complete it it would just say the timeslots were not available. I was ordering around noon. A phone call to the store revealed they don't take delivery orders after noon. Now im pretty sick right now so I might have missed that being listed on the site.
Another conversation is had and I inform them I was hoping for delivery as I am very ill. No luck. Ok I'll make the drive. Is what it is.
I make the drive. Park in the online order pick up lanes and call in the number on the sign. A woman answers. Takes my info and tells me she will tell the person responsible for that department.
Only she didn't. Or at least that's what the woman responsible for that department tells me as she just happens to come up to my car as she is stocking the outside fridge. I waited for 25 minutes I was about to call and complain had it reached 30.
Not very good customer service. I'm in customer service my self and know for a fact my boss would have my hide it I let a paying customer sit for 25 minutes like that with out an update or anything. Normally I wouldn't complain like this but I was sitting there miserable with a fever waiting imo way longer then I should have had to.
(Before you judge me for going out with a fever note that I tried to get delivery. I am the only one in my house that drives and we needed food. I did...
Read moreI rarely buy sweets but 3 boxes of Tastykakes for 10 bucks was a no-brainer. Therefore, I treated myself to 1 box.
Upon scanning my items at the self-checkout counter the Tastykakes rang up $4.49.
Within seconds a very kind, professional employee approached me. Her name tag said Kayla. She assisted me in correcting the issue. She kindly explained how the deal works (needed to buy 3)
However, she generously gave me the sales price without the need to purchase all three boxes. She then scanned all my items for me and when my store card didn't work, she kindly went out of her way to assist in acquiring a new store card.
She kindly took the extra time in assisting me to make sure I was taken care of. I later learned that she preferred to take the extra time in assist me over picking up her kiddo from school!
Thank you Kayla! :) You are exceptional and a credit to Weiss! You went far above and beyond the call of duty! I vote Kayla as the employee of the month! Weiss is lucky to have you! And, I am fortunate to have been kindly helped by you! Thank you for making the world a...
