I built my own gaming PC and a couple months later it started having issues I myself wasnât able to identify and it eventually went dead, so I took it to Frizzis in hopes theyâd be able to identify what was wrong. I came in with the mindset that it was a completely custom PC that was relatively hard to navigate and I didnât have super high expectations, even though they were professionals.
They diagnosed my PC and told me my motherboard was dead and I needed to send it back to the company for a replacement. They took apart my PC for me so I could do this, but they forgot to take out my M2 drive from the motherboard when taking apart my PC which meant all my data was lost when I sent it back to the company. They gave me a new one free of charge to make up for their mistake but it was still an inconvenience.
When I brought in a new motherboard they rebuilt my PC and told me everything was tested and good (I made sure to ask to confirm every other part of my PC was still functional) however when I brought it home my graphics card was not working / green lines were appearing on my monitor or the monitor intermittently did not display anything. When I brought it back to the store and told them the issue they said theyâd fix it, but next time I went to pick it up it was not fixed. I finally gave up on the store and had to diagnose the issue myself, my graphics card was also broken and I sent that piece in to be repaired also. Finally, thanks only partly to Frizziâs help is my PC working again 9ish months later.
Additionally, I had to make an extra trip to pick up my power cord for my PC they forgot to give back the first time. Also, when rebuilding my PC with its new motherboard they did not install the network antennae that presumably came in the new motherboard box and I thankfully had spare ones laying around. I did not receive my motherboard box back so I do not know what happened to the antennae or any other pieces of the motherboard I dropped off. There are also two fans on my PC with no LED connection after being rebuilt by them I have yet to fix, but they should have recognized this issue and fixed it themselves or at least told me they couldnât figure it out. It leads me to believe they did not inspect the PC fully after rebuilding, as I noticed the problem almost immediately after starting it up. In the end I spent ~$100 to have my PC halfway fixed. Iâm fine with this because of the cost of labor of taking apart and rebuilding, and they didnât charge me the second or third time I dropped it off, but still, if you have a custom gaming PC on the higher end that is having issues Iâd be wary.
Even after all this they were very kind, never once rude, and wordlessly stored my PC at their store for months without complaint while I was away from town. Iâm sure if you have a normal, factory made PC, or another relatively standard electronic, this place will be extremely helpful and my review shouldnât scare you. Iâm just writing this for anyone out there who may be in a similar...
Read moreI had mixed results with my order. My screen went dead on my Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. They performed some diagnostics and had to order and install a replacement screen. I applaud them for that because that repair saved me a ton over buying a new phone. It was done in about 3 days.
However, their customer service left a lot to be desired. I never got any updates and had to regularly call to check on my order. When I spoke to someone on a Tuesday, they informed me the screen replacement was successful, but they still needed to apply my screen cover. They also moved my phone from their Wheeling location to the Belaire store without my knowledge, due to the Wheeling location's closure. I told them I would be by on Friday to pay and pick up my phone.
When I stopped by on Friday, they still hadn't installed my screen protector. I explained I was in a hurry and could come back later, but the worker promised me it would take 5 minutes. Half an hour later, I left without my phone while he tried to apply the spare protector in the kit I ordered.
I returned for my phone a few hours later, and the screen protector had lots of bubbles and started peeling off from the top corner. I tried to call the following Monday to see if this could be addressed, but he told me I'd had to order a new kit so he could try again. He admitted he hadn't read the reviews of the part he ordered, and they were all really negative, complaining about the adhesive. Unfortunately, there wasn't anything they could do to address this for me without paying for additional parts and services, so I hung up empty-handed and upset.
Their staff seem knowledgeable, but the lack of communication makes working with them a chore. Additionally, making the customers pay to fix mistakes they made is no way to keep business. I'll be watching YouTube tutorials and ordering parts from IFIXIT.com next time so I can...
Read moreI was a tech and even techs need help now and then. I have used internet tech services and have used other electronics repair service companies in the past with mixed results (and a lot of frustration). Then I found Frizzi Customs... Frizzi Customs not only exceeded my expectations on my computer but won me over for all my electronic repair needs. I drove 45 minutes just to go there because I was so impressed with what they did for my fiancÊs phone months prior (which was recommended as far away as Greensburg, Pa 100 miles away). The owner and Frizzi's techs went the extra mile to make sure that the job was done right the first time and even did extras just to help me prep for my next stage of upgrades. They speak to people with respect... take the time to explain in detail what the process would be, the equipment recommended and spoke at a very educated level (PRO's in their field). I saw them adjust to those that came into their shop with no tech background and did the same for those customers as well. The prices were very reasonable (excellent) and actually I'm certain they could have charged much more for the amount of work that they did to make sure it was right. They even told me if there were any problems to bring it back and they would make sure it was just as I wanted it if need be. I won't go anywhere else. Take the drive and you will be sold too. PS. I have no relation to this company. I just felt that people needed to know so that they could find better service just as I did without all...
