As of 8/21/18, I will no longer be a customer to family fare. This chain has officially priced themselves out of the market, the deli at this particular location is very poor and the only person who seems to give a hoot about the condition of the store is the tall man whos been the cart man and more for over a decade. I went in today to grab a quick bite for supper after a late day, and immediately discovered ALL of the baskets were still down at the other end of the store, by the entrance that closes at like 8pm. I grabbed half of them, and as a customer, walked them down and relocated them to the appropriate location. After that I headed to the deli mildly irritated at the lack of customer consideration on behalf of the employees on duty. Then, I discovered that it is now cheaper to buy 2 full pounds (2.09 to be exact) of cooked chicken from the deli than one single enchilada. Not an enchilada meal or anything else, just one single enchilada. And by an entire dollar. The prices of everything, aside from food, keep climbing, while the service and condition of the store continues to decline and be neglected. I really miss "no-frills". The hostile takover from family fare has...
Read moreEmployees as well as management states that it will not accept payment in the form of coins. Even if you roll them, they will force you to pay before tax of 11% to Coinstar. Last weekend (Banks closed) I went to go get TP. I was met with a firm no on the transaction and treated rudely because I had no paper bills to pay for the TP with. Not going to pay for coins to be counted by a third party after I already purchased rollers and spent my time rolling them. If you need to check the value of the roll, there is ways to use a scale and do it. Afraid there isn't actual coins form the customer who has been going to the store for the last 10 years, use a knife, slice it open . See coins, scotch take back together. The end. Also the end of business with me as cooperate states there is NO restrictions on how one pays. Coins are minted as currency. Us folks who need to roll some coins to make it through a week should not be publicly humiliated, talked down to nor turned away due to a cooperate owned store that makes up it's own rules.
Two stars as this place had been the go-to for about 10 years. Never had an issue, till I turned poor and was unable to pay in...
Read moreGot a recall thru our email indicating that beef broth recently purchased at this store #3788 was recalled and to return it to the store. Drove 17 miles and took 20 minutes one way to return to store. This beef broth brand was only one available at this store. When I got there, they were not aware of the recall and called Store Director to service area. He also was not aware of the recall. I let him review the email we received and finally said to “give my money back” to the service center employee. I asked if there was any compensation for time and mileage to bring it back to store and he stated “it is not my problem, I did not do it”. I asked for his name and he showed me his name tag which said “Les”. Then he said “it doesn’t make any difference as I am going on leave anyway”!!! And then he walked away to his office. I did not really expect any compensation for my time or travel but I did expect better customer service. A store director should never treat a customer like this. A simple apology would have sufficed but did not even get that. Shame on Les. Perhaps a permanent leave would be in his best interest and...
