First of all, maps has this location, the 2020 phonebook and a paper map both indicated a different location on Cedar. St. I called and did get help to go to this location, thanks to that person! Second, it is NOT labeled ANYWHERE as Greyhound. It is Jefferson buses, and when my niece finally boarded her bus, it was a Lamers bus! Finding the parking lot was a nightmare. See my answer to the question, "Can I park my car here?" Granted, the huge snow piles made seeing anything behind them impossible. Don't enter where the buses park in front! I drove all the way around the block, entering two wrong lots, before I finally found the entrance to a small parking area that came even before the building (coming from Webster Street onto University). It is a longer than expected walk past several other business entrances, before we finally tried an entrance labeled Jefferson Buses. The attendant behind a closed glass window with only a speaker, was not pleasant or helpful. My niece would have been totally lost had I not gone along to help. If it were not for two waiting bus passengers (with special needs) who gave us info, I don't know what would have happened. One explained where the bus would be and described it by color, and the other told us the bus had arrived. Yes! All this on a day with a below zero wind chill. Thankfully the bus driver was very kind and helpful explaining all the stops before Madison, and asking which of three dropoff points in the city she needed. I hope this helps someone avoid the stress we had. Luckily our "leave extra time for problems" tendency came to be...
Read moreFirst of all, they never showed up to pick my autistic son up and never emailed any of us to tell us about the changes when a Greyhound bus finally did show up, which was totally late after we were hours early, The bus driver was rude n unprofessional n wd not help him by speaking to dispatch or otherwise n then when we called it in to them we were lied to n told that he was “on the bus” n his ticket had been scanned! We had to get law enforcement involved to SHOW he was NOT on the bus! The rude bus driver n the rude phone ppl told him to wait overnight for the 7 am bus…((this was last night!!)
when he did that …the arriving bus driver (Operator Johnson told him he’d need a new ticket! He was the SAME rude driver he had dealt with before!).
I hv emailed them AND called n no response …but they FINALLY gave him a new ticket after originally trying to force him to REPAY!! It’s been a nightmare n has cost us EXTRA $ in a train ride here plus gas $ n driving n missing work! bc on his way here we had to go get him 4 hrs away there n back in Chicago) all bc they had delays n he was going to be sitting for 12 hrs!!
We even made a police report bc of the FRAUD n the fact he was on a visiting travel permit!! *His PO needed PROOF n we are just hoping he gets home now! He has to be there another 24 hrs…alone at a stupid...
Read moreAbsolutely terrible service. I purchased a ticket as a gift for my younger cousin to travel and visit me in MN for the first time. Not only is there a ridiculous $18 gift fee, but the man behind the counter with a mustache treated my cousin poorly, saying initially that her ticket was not in the system and that she should have purchased it herself. She gave him the reference number, and then he apparently found the ticket and printed it for her. Only he printed the return ticket for a completely different day and time. It was her first time bussing and she did not think to check the return ticket. (It's a national bus line, you'd think you'd be able to trust their service, right?)
When I went to drop her off at the MN station for her return trip they charged another $15 to transfer the ticket to what I had ORIGINALLY PAID for. The man said it was our responsibility to check and make sure THEY had done their job right. He also cast blame on their computers rather than the clerk in the Green Bay office, because obviously their employees could do no wrong. When confronting the Green Bay clerk upon arrival home, he basically stated that it was her fault and to leave...
