Market Basket is a full 20-25% less expensive than its competitors in the area for basically the same food.

Yes, it's not as luxurious to shop in, it's usually mobbed, the aisles are tight and the parking lot sucks. Produce is not as great in some items, and they don't carry as many super-speciality foods as Whole Foods or Stop & Shop.

However, the people who work there are amazing. They are abundant (try almost every checkout line open during rush) and helpful, and friendly, and the store is well stocked and well managed. No self checkout crap. You don't need it, there's always a line open & the short wait to have somebody actually bag your groceries is well worth it.

We'd kill for an upgraded facility like the nicer newer Market Baskets that do exist, but our Bellingham store crew, from the managers to the baggers are amazing, and make shopping here worth the visit.

Their meat department is wonderful (we preorder our Thanksgiving turkey every year here and it’s perfect) the seafood counter is great and if you can get near the deli, they work hard and are great too.

Finally, a shout out to the bakery and prepared food folks - they are awesome. The food is great and they couldn't be more helpful. Subs are delicious and inexpensive and the baked goods are delicious, taste almost homemade and well stocked.

We love MB, just wish it was as a new one. Oh, and don't go near the place the day before a major snowstorm, or any Sunday at noon. Plan your visit if possible.

5,000 stars for the staff and people and management, 3 for the facility. It really needs an upgrade. Overall a 4, but it is still...

I love Market Basket. Great prices and deals. They have a great selection of everything especially produce, meats, deli items, bread, bakery, and seafood. The best fresh swordfish. Amazing store brand products and a wide selection of them. I especially love their wide selection of store brand cereals, bagels of all flavors, and sandwich breads. They make a Oat Nut bread that's just like the expensive Arnold's brand but half the price. Its my favorite. BUT.... There's just 1 thing that ruins it all. The other people that shop there!!!! I don't know if its just this specific location or if these rude people just flock to all Market Baskets in general but the behavior of these people makes shopping there unbearable! Its always very busy in there but the behavior of the other customers makes it way worse than when you go shopping at Wal-Mart or Stop and Shop on Christmas eve! Within 1 minute of entering I'm already irritated. EVERY SINGLE TIME you go there. Its always like this unless you go at like 6 at night when everyone's at home for the day. It sucks because I love this Market but I can't deal with it anymore. I'm hoping the location in Attleboro isn't as bad. I'll drive the extra 3 or 4 miles to avoid even a fraction of the stress of shopping at the Bellingham store....

I have grown up going to this market basket since it was built. Now being an adult I still love to shop here when I am in the area. Bob Snow from the meat department is an absolutely fantastic human being who truly cares! I asked him if he could start stocking Bell and Evans organic chicken bone broth, and he did! He even called me back to let me know when it came in! What a stand-up guy! You never find that anywhere anymore never mind a 'big' grocery store. I'm so grateful for people like Bob who helps to make this store run smoothly and keep loyal customers coming back! Someone give that man a raise because his heart is full of gold, he truly cares. I also appreciate everyone who takes a moment out of their work schedule to help me locate a product in the store. The cashiers and baggers are also wonderful. Sushi is always fresh. I'm just so grateful to have people who genuinely care and where you can ask them if they will carry/stock a product for you, I mean how considerate is that? And now they can barely keep it on the shelves!!! Don't say I didn't tell you all about the bone and broth we love adding it to EVERYTHING even homemade pizza sauce.
