I would not recommend going here at all. If you like rude customer service delays on your order and to be hung up on then maybe you would enjoy your service here. The first time i called after purchasing my bed in cash two weeks after making the order i was told they had no record of my name on file and i had to call the following morning to speak to someone else who could help me. The second day I called and spoke to "mike" he was very rude and told me my bed was on a delay and he didnt know when it would be here after it was supposed to be delivered a week ago. I called today and spoke to a women who told me she didnt know when my bed would be here and wouldnt even give me an estimate on time. After her rude comments and her telling me "she didnt know anything" i asked her name and her response "its none of your business" and hung up the phone. I called back and spoke to mike and asked for a refund after paying over 1000 and was told he can only give me a $100. So at this point i dont think i will ever get my bed i paid for and believe they took my money.
Response to mikes comment below. A package delay is not frustrating for me. Only if i was called to let me know I will not be getting the bed that was supposed to be there four days earlier. You guys were well aware that i was moving into an apartment and i needed to have the bed on the 1st to have a bed to sleep in. It would have been ok if my current room wasn't replaced by my sister who had moved in to the spare bedroom. I am now currently sleeping on a couch and could of avoided this if you guys could have called and said it wouldnt be here. I was wrong for trusting that. After no call from you guys i decided to call Monday to make arrangements for the bed to be dropped off that Wednesday. I did hang up on you the first time due to your condescending comments and it was clear you didnt care or want to help. So yes after ten minutes of you being rude and saying theres nothing you could do I knew that you didnt want to help or wouldnt. You said "there was nothing you could do. I called a second time a few days later and was told the bed would be here friday. When i called Friday around 3 i had first spoke to a lady who said it would be here but didnt know when. They closed in a couple hours and i needed to make arrangements with a sitter and wanted to get the bed as soon as it arrived. She said "it will get here when it gets here". I explained my situation and her response was " i already told you everything i know theres nothing else i can do for you, I cant give you a time because idk it may come on monday. At this point I asked her for her name and her response "its none of your business" Click. she hung up the phone i called right after her hangup and Mike answered the phone i asked if he could tell me the name of the lady I was speaking to because i wanted to leave a complaint. My original intent of asking her name was to know who to tell them told me monday. When the bed doesnt come. He told me he didnt know who it was and when i asked if he could find out i was on hold for a couple minutes and he said "no ones answering the phone so i dont know. If anyone has went to wahls it is a smaller shop with about three employees at a time. I knew he didnt want to tell me thinking i wouldnt leave a complaint. He told me its not going to make a difference so why does it matter? He never apologized for the rude customer service. He then said I dont know if youre going to look her up and follow her around. At this point I am insulted that he would even insinuate something like this. So at this point he is not going to tell me and asks if there is anything i can do about the bed order saying i dont want to hang up on you because you dont like that..... So yes i did tell him that was a very idiotic thing to say. I did ask if he makes 7.25 because it seems like they really do not enjoy working there. They do not want to help people or even know how to talk to someone like a decent human being. If you think i went "way beyond" i apologize but i was tired of...
Read moreRecently I purchased a Whirlpool dishwasher, fridge, and stove from Wahls. Unfortunately, I must express my disappointment with how the entire process unfolded.
Firstly, upon purchasing the units it was not communicated to me that I would be responsible for BOTH the refrigerator and dishwasher installation, they only told me about the fridge, which ended up costing me $300. Significantly higher than the original estimate of $100-150 for just the fridge install. Additionally, upon delivery, I discovered that my dishwasher arrived without a toe guard, I went to pick up the toe guard from the store, their contracted plumber tried to install it and it did not fit. The dishwasher arrived with multiple dents on the front, contrary to what was expected based on my in-store purchase. Even the gentleman I purchased the unit from agreed that when we looked it over in the store, there was no damage to the front, only a small dent on the side. I have attached pictures for reference.
Despite being assured that I could select a new dishwasher at no additional cost for installation, and no mention of having to pay the difference. I was surprised to find that I was still up charged $30 when I chose a dishwasher only $70 more expensive than the damaged one (which was not damaged when I purchased it). That is an insignificant amount of money when you consider the amount I spent all together with this purchase and all the things that went wrong upon installation, yet they wanted to haggle over a $30 up charge! You can clearly see the product that was delivered was not satisfactory.
On top of all of that, over the weekend after my installation on Friday, I kept smelling a gas stench from the oven. I chalked it up to the new install until other people started to notice the smell. Monday morning I called Wahls to let them know the oven had a gas leak and was told to "Open the windows, its not a big deal." That their technician would be there soon to install the SECOND dishwasher and would take a look. Alliant came out and as soon as they came in the house their gas alarm started going off. Sure enough the oven was not hooked up properly.
As I am sure most of you know being a first homeowner who has been saving for this purchase since I bought my home in 2022 and made a significant investment in these appliances, this experience has been disheartening. I had high expectations, especially considering my family's positive history with Wahl's for the past 25 years. Unfortunately, this transaction fell short of providing the level of customer service I anticipated.
The only positive interaction I had through the whole experience was the second technician who came out and felt bad I went through all of that and made sure everything was in order before he left. Even took the handles off of all of my appliances to remove the factory plastic, which the original installers should have taken care of when they were there the first time.
Regrettably, I cannot overlook the fact that I would have been better off purchasing brand new units from Menards and finding someone to install them on my own, as they were less expensive than the S&D section at Wahls and would have been much less of a hassle to deal with. Taking a day off work to accommodate delivery only added to my frustration. Then I needed an additional day to have a new unit delivered because the first one was damaged.
There was more that went into all of this, but you get the picture. I have expressed concerns throughout the entire process to managers over the phone, in person, and even sent all of this in an email, none of which were addressed with even a simple sincere apology without excuses being made or blame being pointed on me. There have been multiple opportunities to make things right and provide better communication and a positive customer service experience. So while it pains me to have to sit here being a complete Karen and express these sentiments, I feel it is important to provide honest feedback. This will be my last...
Read moreOther half purchased a used washer and dryer with a 90 day warranty on 1/18/2021. Washing machine failed on 1/25/2021 (one week later). Had a service tech come out two days later and was told the washer needed parts and someone would call me. Later that day I got a call and was told a different guy was coming out to look at the washer. He too was unable to fix the washer. Received a call on 1/27/2021 letting me know that some other broken washing machine they had was being rebuilt for me because no one can figure out what is wrong with the one we purchased. I have not received a single phone call since that day. We spent $340 for the ability to wash clothes for barely a week. It has been 2 weeks since the washer quit working and over a week since we have heard anything. We are a busy family of 4 and being without a washing machine is not acceptable. We had no choice but to buy a washing machine from somewhere else. We heard great things about Wahls and that's why we went there. After this, I don't think we will be referring any of our...
