Never saw this restaurant until tonight when I was driving by. Decided to stop in and see what it was like. Quite a lot of seating but only other customers was a family of 4. Seated right away with clean menus which had a very good selection of meals and options. Separate drink menu of alcoholic drinks and beer. Chips and warmed salsa served right away. Ordered al pastor tacos with cilantro and onion. Forgot to choose flour tortillas (vs. corn tortillas) as did the waitress. For only having one other set of customers in the restaurant (who had already been served), it took a relatively long time to receive the meal. 3 very full tacos as ordered. The pork was not shredded - it was ground up. Meal was very good; came with a green and a red salsa for the tacos along with 4 lime wedges. Could only finish 2 tacos. Brought home the 3rd taco along with a slice of tres leches cake.
The check finally arrived. $12.99 for the tacos (no Mexican rice or refried beans), $3.10 for Pepsi (free refills), and $6.20 for the cake. Next time (because I will go back) will just be the main course and water. Check had a cash price and a credit price based on payment. I was already going to pay with cash anyway and will remember that for next time too. However, the waitress disappeared for 30 minutes when all I wanted to do was pay. Finally found another employee to take my payment.
Interior decorating, floors, and walls were all very tasteful and appropriate. Not overdone or garish - I really liked it! All of the furniture was brand new too (not repurposed). Different types of seating too - booths, pub/bar height chairs, group tables, etc. Either electronic game or slot machines were located on the bar side of the restaurant.
Waitress said they've been open for 4 months. I may not drive by this area everyday but it's not been 4 months. They should really do more advertising especially when on a Saturday evening, there were only 2 customers in the place. I'd like to see them stay because I will want to return for more tacos, and to try out quesadillas or one of their other...
Read moreHad a fabulous lunch at Hacienda San Miguel with friends today. It was our first time there. The dining room is rustic and adorned with incredible hand painted murals that depict the love and passion of the Mexican Caballeros.
Started with an assortment of hand crafted margaritas for the table. I had the pomegranate. Very refreshing with the right amount of tequila. Then we went on to the food.
We had a large group and the kitchen did a 5 course tasting meal for us. Started with fresh made chips and guacamole, salsas, and jalapeño queso blanco. All were delicious. Next was a traditional coctel de camarone. It reminded me of being back in Puerta Vallarta. The shrimp was fresh and the salsa was vibrant and flavorful.
Chicken Mole followed. The Mole sauce had a subtle sweetness and complex spice over perfectly cooked rotisserie chicken. Then beef fajitas with tri-color peppers and onions which was tender and delicious served with corn tortillas and guacamole.
The last of the main dishes was a house specialty - quesabirrias. Shredded beef, with melted cheese, cilantro, and onion served in a grilled tortilla dipped in ibirrias style broth. This was a favorite of the group and even ordered extra to take home.
We finished up with Tres Leches cake. Can’t leave without something sweet. It was moist and delicious as I expected it would be.
5 stars all around for Hacienda San Miguel! Can’t...
Read moreThis place was absolutely phenomenal! I unfortunately do not remember the name of the wonderful woman who served me and my family, but she was an amazing hostess.
The food is very flavorful and balanced. The warmth of the spice complimented the flavor of the food without compromising the overall taste of it.
The service was the best we have ever had anywhere in terms of a traditional family dine-in experience. She kept checking on us regularly, and she offered us a sample of the tortilla soup, and following that, after we paid, she still continued to check on us drink wise until we were ready to leave! (You rarely have servers checking in on you after you've already paid and tipped)
The atmosphere was great. It was air-conditioned, very professional, with great music, and overall vibes. (And as I was dancing to the music, our server joined in and was also singing along)
Price wise, this place is a tad on the more expensive side, but it is definitely worth it!
Overall, this place is a 10/10 in my book, and I will definitely be coming back here with my family again, as well as reccomending this place to others!
I've also attached some pictures from our experience.
Enchiladas, Burrito Mexico, Steak Torta, and some...
