Piggly Wiggly — Local services in Beloit

Since retiring from Chicago home to the East side of Beloit, this has become my favorite grocery store. The "pig" has an enormous variety of ethnic foods, a huge fresh meat / butcher shop, great deli, and bakery, dairy section, and everything you would expect in a much larger grocery store! There is always a line at the hot food counter. Recently I had an event at my home and needed catered fresh veggie and relish trays, meat and cheese trays, condiments, a variety of bakery items, paper goods and more. Piggly provided everything and exceeded my expectations. (coming from 40+ years in Chicago, my expectations are high). I must say I was so impressed that they offered to slice the variety of 20 dozen rolls, for no extra charge. It is the details that impress me! In 30+ years of grocery shopping I've never had a more negative and infuriating experience as I did today at Piggly Wiggly Beloit. I was in line with my toddler checking out with a very nice lady named Charisse (she was nice and very pleasant) I had a digital coupon that wouldn't work so she called over a manager named Heath. They came over with the worst attitude, rude and condescending, very unhelpful. All they had to do was explain I had the wrong app but instead they yelled at me in front of other customers, embarrassed me and snatched the item from my hands. Very disappointed with my service at Beloit’s Piggly Wiggly location. Preordered FRIED chicken from their deli. When I go to pick up all of the chicken looks like baked chicken. I ask the employee and he said do you want me to call a manager. YES! Manager comes over and says this is the new way we make the chicken, sorry we can’t do it the old way because the oil is too expensive and it was burning and wasting the oil. So he offered to re cook it. And proceeded to tell me I’m the only one who has complained. He continued to walk around speaking to his employees about the situation, which is very unprofessional.
