I visited Hobby Lobby for the very first time in my life and because of the uneasy feeling I received at this store, I will never do business there again.I walk into the store about I would say 7:50pm (oblivious to their hours of operation) and nobody speaks to me, ask to help me, or tells me to hurry they are near close (I would have turned back around because I know how it is with retail).
I finally find the Prismacolor pencils with no help and they do their last call to gather your things to the register and I get one more pencil and turn to leave but before I do I alert the associate coming out the back that I am still in the store. She gets uncomfortably close to me and says "can i help you" and I say "I dont think so but should I get these tritone?".She did not try to make the sale at all and followed me all the way up to the register saying "you can come back at 9 and we told your family we would give you back, etc".She was trying to be humorous but was being very pushy and following me as I went to the register. I get to the register and the cashier says nothing to me and takes about 2 minutes to find the code for the pencil. As I am turning my card around out of my pocket she says "turn the card around" really fast and angrily.I did not let any of it phase me and politely said "thank you" and she said nothing. The manager (I think) he said "good night" and unlocked the door.
It was 8:04 and they treated me like I was an invader. When it comes to last minute customers or people who may just so happen to pop in and don't know anything about Hobby Lobby store#697 you need to work on meeting customer needs and just asking "what are you seeking, let me lead you to that aisle" at the front door.Store#697 do not do things that cause customer discomfort or unease.Store#697 perhaps give a 5 minute warning before the final call.Store #697 needs to realize sales matter and to say thank you to the customer.
I will admit that I made the foul error of not reading the hours of operation but just telling someone "we will be closing shortly" at the door would be polite.I don't know why they were so impolite and can only pray they just had a hard day and were not being...
Read moreThis is my third visit to this store. I did actually find what I needed at my last visit - puzzle glue and material to potentially replace pieces. But, I found it on my own. This is not an issue since I am an adult and can help myself but, the issue is the number of employees who are walking around the store who are NOT even willing to ask if a customer needs help. A couple of times an employee walked right behind and beside me without a single offer or even the scripted "are you doing ok" question to resemble assistance. The previous two visits resulted in the same lack of concern by any employee in the store, to include their grand opening. I credited the initial visit to lack of training but not the last ones. I guess a male walking around in a hobby store isn't considered a friend to the store or maybe I just appear to know exactly what I want.... during my 30 minutes of walking around obviously lost in an unfamiliar...
Read moreTried to tell woman manager that she had an employee who was trying to help this woman and her husband and she seemed cold and uninterested. A few employees went out of their way to be helpful...others kinda ignored that you even existed. The lady who was physically supported that elderly woman in Hobby Lobby's wheel chair deserves to be accommodated. She helped hold her up while her handicapped husband tried to help get her feet in the car. A few of us took over, the lady screamed in pain and was shaking badly. Your employee stayed until the woman was safe in the car thanks to the help of other strangers. Your employee actually supported this poor woman when her legs gave out and she went down. Your employee kept her from hitting the concrete outside your door. She is a wonderful human being who happens to work for you and you seemed to really not care...not good as far as I...
