Do not buy major appliances from this store! Dishwasher nightmare!

We purchased a dishwasher. At the time of purchase, we paid an extra $50 to have the delivery truck take away the old dishwasher, and were provided a contract stating HD would complete a basic hookup (not a full install into the cabinet) before departing with the old machine.

We were given 30 minutes warning for an 8AM drop off. My elderly father was home alone, and the delivery men took advantage of him. They dropped off the new dishwasher, and left it sitting in the middle of the hallway that serves as a fire egress lane for his bedroom.

They didn’t take the old machine, an additional service fee we paid for at time of purchase, nor did they do the basic hookup (electric and water) that is included per Home Depot’s contract.

Now we’re stuck with a dishwasher in the middle of a hallway and the old broken machine still in the kitchen.

Neither of us are physically capable of lifting a dishwasher. There are two one-step step downs that two strong people could easily navigate, but not us.

The salesman in the appliance department at Home Depot personally assured us that the delivery guys would remove the old dishwasher for the paid fee. But when they got here, they claimed that Vermont law prevents them from doing any installation (despite the contract Home Depot supplied at time of purchase), and simply ignored the removal service contract.

Buy from a real appliance shop. Don’t trust the written word of this Home Depot - they clearly have no issue violating signed contracts and taking advantage of their customers.

In short - direct lies from the store, breach of contract, and virtually zero heads up that they were on the way has made this an absolutely horrible experience. See picture for dishwasher just left in the hallway.

What should have been simple has become a disaster. Avoid this HD...

The store assistant manager when I was making delivery I rang the reciever door bell the door opened very lightly I couldn't see anything or anyone so I swong the door open the person I encountered was angry claiming I pulled his hand when I opened the door I apologized and this person was being very confitational I asked if he was having a bad day he then jumped towards me in a physically confitational manner I then said I out and have a great day. Went around to the customer service area and asked to speak to the store manager the store manager and what I now know as the assistant manger approached me again the assistant got right up in my space confitational again and I said all I won't to do is make your delivery and I will get out of your store the store manager then said he seen and heard hole interaction I said no you did not because the assistant and I were back out of your field of view he mentioned I was being a jerk I then apologized again and asked if they were going to except there delivery and I would unload all products without any assistance from assistant manager and he was to stay off the trailer at there time I unloaded there 70 pieces of there ordered delivery and went on with my next stop in New York Never will I deliver to this store location again I've been driving in the commercial industry for 36years and this location has a reciever issue in my own opinion 😢 location avoid if at all possible!!!...

Ok so I ordered my stuff online and then dealing with Bennington store! So I ordered my stuff in the frist week of Apirl and now in June I’m finally getting my stuff! If weeding wasn’t the worst I get my stuff all seven of the plywood that I ordered was waterlogged From sitting outside before they delivered it and 4 boxing of flooring was damaged as well so I called and had them replace the Plywood and got the wrong plywood so I ended up having to use the waterlogged plywood to do my project. And in mind you I have already made a point of telling them I would not be reusing Home Depot!! Well I talk to Ryan I believe! and was great! Also Ryan(?) and Carlos can got the product being returned and bring it back to Walmart so I can be reimbursed and re-get the four boxes of flooring that needs to be replaced!! If it wasn’t for Carlos and Ryan(?) I would never ever use Home Depot again but they are great and for them I will stay with Home Depot but only deal with them and the 1 worker Tanya...
