I've lived in Benton for a year now. I go to Ma and Pa's, and every other junk store in town every couple of weeks in search of elephants and Buddha's. I walk everywhere I go. I have a license, but anxiety keeps me from driving. As a walker, I always carry my backpack. Every time I go into one of these places, I ALWAYS make a beeline for the counter and ask them to store my bag. I have always done this at Ma and Pa's and it has never been a problem. I'm a tall, skinny guy with tattoos and I understand that to some people I fit certain profiles and I find that by volunteering my backpack, it helps to put people at ease. About a week ago, I went to make my rounds of the various places. I entered Ma and Pa's and went straight to the counter where the guy who is always behind the counter very forcefully told me that I couldn't come in with my bag. I was like that's okay, I was wanting to leave it with you. He tells me that they've had a lot of problems with theft (I understand that), and they just don't want people like me in there. I'm sorry, like me, how? I've never been in there and not spent money. I'm not a thief, never been accused of theft. It's okay tho. I'm sorry that you're store is being stolen from, but I do hope you learn how to treat people better. I'll never spend money there again and I'll tell anyone who cares to listen about how I...
Read moreI rented a booth at this location for several months. although, i admit, i did not work it to the best of my best ability, i still did not even come close to breaking even the whole time i was located there. My payment on the last month was late, but was PAID. While going to collect my items for removal, my movers were met with boxes that had already been packed up by the store's personnel and they were then told my things were going to auction for non-payment! After realizing that the rent WAS paid, (THEIR ERROR) my movers were allowed to get the boxes. Unfortunately, i did not receive so MANY of my items, including furniture and ALL my rugs. I feel that quite a lot was taken from me. They never attempted to return the items they ALREADY had taken to auction, and they never attempted to TRY to compensate me for my loss. I do not recommend this place. no foot traffic, shady and very questionable vendor treatment, leaky roof, too hot in the Summer months and they don't practice what they preach. There are much better flea market venues with updated bookkeeping systems!! Please think before you rent from...
Read moreThis is a quaint little Flea market. Lots of thing to look at and good place to buy little nik-naks. The only downfall really is their stuff is over priced. However I don't think that is any fault of the actual market it's self but more of the people who has the booths, I gave it 4 stars because the place is way over cluttered and very hard to walk in and around the booths. That is the markets fault because they can tell the people that rent there to clean up those boths so someone doesn't fall. If I was the owners I would be worried from a trip and...
