Bethel Mills — Local services in Bethel

TLDR: Bethel Mills is awesome to deal with. Sarah is the best, if you can get her and/or Scott for your project that's the way to play, but everyone else there is great too.

Full Review: As a contractor dealing in construction, renewables, HVAC and more I have found Bethel Mills to be awesome to work in a variety of areas. I typically deal with Sarah, and have found her attention to detail, turnaround time, and ability to get answers quickly to be beyond impressive. While the rest of the world is still blaming every issue (and their own incompetence) on the pandemic, supply chains, etc. Sarah just gets it done and communicates clearly on pricing and availability.

Her colleague Scott, and others there, worked as a contractor for years before switching to the supplier side which makes a huge difference; as that perspective eliminates problems associated with people who are only order takers e.g. if you order a truckload of foam board insulation they remind you to get a case of seam tape while you're juggling jobs and phone calls etc. There have also been times where they provide great insight and advice on products or areas I have questions on.

They have a nice show room and inside sales folks to help guide our clients. Sometimes their lumber is maybe a few points higher than a competitor, but I never have to pull through their delivery piles to see what's hiding in the middle (love those full board knots on 16 footers these days that snap as soon as you look at them), as the quality is on point. The management must be doing something right there because they have great people doing their jobs above par who seem to enjoy their work. Update: The owner stopped at my place to rectify the delayed door replacement. He made the work right and that is much appreciated. I look forward to continuing to support our local business. It was a frustrating experience but I know that sometimes jobs fall through the cracks. When businesses are willing to standby their reputation and fix what was wrong that counts for a lot.

Waiting about half a year for a defective door to be replaced or fixed. Not a call within this time with an update - much less a gift certificate or anything to attempt to compensate for the waisted time we have dealing with this - from many calls to photos to having to finish and clean parts of the door twice when the failed lights are...
