Maxi-Lube Plus — Local services in Big Sandy

I came in for a car inspection today. I pulled in the bay. Let me add that I was not told anything prior to entering the bay. The employee checked my lights and looked at 4 tires and told me I failed the inspection. I then told him thanks I'll get tires and I'll just get this completed in Winnsboro where I live. The employee tells me I'll call the police officers if you leave, you owe us seven dollars and you must come back here to get the inspection finished. I told him this is unacceptable because I have not received an inspection and I don't live here. They never even drove the car to check the brakes. This is a rip off. He lied about the inspection being finished. The police were taking too long so I decided I would go to the police station myself, as I passed the gas station the police pulled me over. Big sandy police forced me to pay, or I would go to jail over seven dollars. They are wrong because they are supposed to do an investigation first. They would have found out that the inspection was never completed. I will never go back to this place. Also, Mr. Maxi is an amazing man that I have done business with, but he has not owned this place for 3 years. I wish he were still the owner because he would have said no worries, I'll see you next time sir. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME...

They changed my oil this morning, a little less than 90 miles later my oil light comes on. Immediately pull over and there's oil everywhere. Walk around the car there's oil on the back end and passenger side of the car. I called maxi lube and he advised it could have been an issue with the o ring on the filter, then said to drive my car to him. I said I can't because there's clearly a significant oil leak. He told me to go to a local place and call him in the morning. So I pay 125 to be towed to a local place where they see there is no oil filter attached. I call maxi lube back and he said he tightened the filter with a wrench so there's no way. He said he's not paying for the tow and can refund my initial oil change for "condolences". Go see him in person after my car is fixed and admits it could have been him but he's only willing to refund the initial oil change. Zero out of ten stars. Do...

I love this place and fully intend to come back here often. My first experience with them was when my car broke down on my way to Tyler, they saw me and rushed out to help. They found out my alternator needed to be replaced and they worked with me on the price, which I appreciated. They were able to get me in and out in about 2 hours and I was able to get to Tyler without anymore issues. This time I took my car up there because my service engine light was on. They said I could leave my car with them and they would look at it and call me if they find any other issues with my car. They called and said it’s a motor mount that really needed to be replaced and they gave me a very reasonable price. The price surprised me because a shop in my town was going to charge me way more than I could afford. So satisfied with this place, they are now my go-to and I live in Gilmer, which is about 20...
