I have never had an issue at a Market Basket before until today. I went to the deli to get cold cuts, the man that works behind the deli is the rudest person I’ve met in a long time. That guy should not be serving the public! For 11 AM on a Monday, it was pretty busy at the deli. I had waited about 15/20 minutes before he asked what I wanted. But, because I did not get a ticket, he would not serve me!! I NEVER get stuff from the deli, and I know you’re supposed to get a “ticket”. I didn’t see any tickets hanging out of the red dispenser so I thought they were out!! Just because I didn’t pick a ticket, the guy would not serve me. There were about four people in line BEHIND me that all told the deli guy “he was here before me, it’s ok you can serve him” but the man still ignored me and would not serve me!! Just kept saying “you need to get a ticket BUDDY” and continued to ask all the other people what they wanted even after I tried to explain to him that I thought the red ticket dispenser was out. Just to clarify, I never leave reviews about anything. That guy is so disrespectful!!! It’s little things like that which makes you feel worthless. I had waited in line for almost 20 minutes before anybody even asked me a question, just to be told I need to go to the end of the line and get a ticket! Ha! I hope his manager is reading this review. Completely...
Read moreI gave it two stars because the customer service is bad. My first time today at this store and I asked one person at the bakery if they had warm food available and this employee said no. I went to the back of the store and there was hot chicken and few other hot foods. I asked another employee stocking cheese if there was warm bread at the bakery and this employee said no sorry. Both these employees spoke fluent English so there’s no excuse. I went to the front and found warm fresh long bread. I asked another employee for the manager and she was helpful and asked what happened and looked disappointed and immediately went to get the manager. When he arrives I greeted him professionally and tried to shake his hand when he looked like he didn’t even want to greet me and his name was David, not once did he apologize for my bad experience, instead he doubted me and said well I don’t know why would they say that. I explained Had I been another customer who was not curious, Market Basket would have lost business from a customer and that’s bad customer service and bad for business. He said yeah well ok and walked away. Shame on you Market Basket, do better next time! If the employees can’t greet, help, communicate etc with customers find another job. This was so...
Read moreMy visits to Market Basket are usually calm and efficient. I’ve had Cassidy as a bagger a few times. I’m patient and understand people work at different speeds, but during this visit the lines were backed up and it felt like she had little regard for people’s time. The cashier, who seemed no older than nineteen, tried to help bag the items to move things along. Cassidy, who appears much older, told her, “Can you stop so I can do my job.” I didn’t say anything and just mouthed to the cashier that it was okay. Cassidy was noticeably slow, pausing with each item before placing it in the bag. That might be fine on a quiet day, but when the store is busy, pace and teamwork really matter. I understand wanting to do a job well, but it’s also important to be mindful of...
