I went into this place and I am a injured veteran I thought I would be able to shop here becauae there were know signs saying you had to have specific papers in order to shop here no veterans allowed only active. I hate that these places exclude former soldiers that were injured and recognized and I wish that would change all over it's not right, we served to we deserve to shop there just as much as active. I even showed my veteran ID it meant nothing to them. Also I went into their produce section which to me defines how they care for their whole store and what I witnessed was hideous they had old rotting fruit and although this grocery store is huge I ran a produce section by myself and it looked like whoever was running it either lacked appropriate help or just did not care.. To be honest as I went through the store I wondered how this place can charge so much for their food... The meat for a tiny piece was like twenty eight dollars not enough for a whole active military family or even one soldier by themselves... I thought the government only treated Veterans bad but these women and men, young mostly; can barely afford to eat because of these sky rocket prices....NOTE: to the people that own and run that store if you want to bump up to sky rocket prices, please clean the produce section up before An ACTIVE Member of the military gets sick from rotting produce... I would never go to this location...
Read moreGreat place for me to grab a quick item or two. I was a little disappointed last week, for I was shopping for ground turkey and there was none to be found. I agree with another shopper that prices are a bit high for some items. On the other hand, you can find items that are below price if shopping out in town. You basically need to know the prices to your outside market before coming in. There's some who never leaves the facility, so they depend solely on the Base. We have the best of both worlds - on and off.
On a lighter note - I found Halloween candy in...
Read moreI shop at the commissary mainly for the prices. Produce is usually fresh, once in a while there's old or mushy stuff, but staff is good about taking care of that department. Deli has very competitive prices, if you need prosciutto or fresh cut cheeses it's worth purchasing there. I want to support the commissary but over time I find the economy is better quality...however I'd rather put my money back into the AF. Dairy is an area that could be improved. Not a lot of quality control; I can find expired yogurt, cheese, horseradish. Very frustrating. I also wished they carried local items, I've been to other locations around the Conus where they do this. It's great. You support the commissary and can also get...
