I recently did a bike ride from Cumberland Maryland to Pittsburgh Pennsylvania on the GAP trail. This is the first long-distance bicycle trip I’ve taken where I did not have the SAG team following the cyclists. Because of that, I may have over packed a bit & put everything in a trailer. That was a huge mistake. When we came across this bicycle shop on our second day, I immediately pulled in & looked for a rack & a trunk to carry the minimal supplies needed for the remaining journey. The owner was super friendly & helped make my selection easy. He even let me use his tools to install my newly purchased rack on my bike. I’m confident he would have installed it for me but he had several other bikes ahead of mine & I did not want to hold up the rest of my group.
As I write this, I am doing the entire length of the GAP trail for a second time. Even though I know that I don’t need anything, I’m still going to stop & buy something for no other reason than just support this...
