I stayed here May 2023. Booked a private room for 90$. Glad I did because all my gear was soaked and muddy. After rinsing everything off with the hose outside the bike storage area. I was able to use the onsite w/d. (1.50$ each, supplied detergent). The owner stopped by to drop off coffee and coco packs. Other than that you supply your own food, etc. There is a kitchen with microwave, coffee maker, fridge/freezer, and plates/bowls/cups.| I found the Hostel to be clean and comfortable. Very nice bathrooms and hot showers! There is a lovely sitting room and porch outback. Anyone complaining about the trains is just silly. Where on this trail are you not going to find a train?| There is an option to get a to go breakfast, but I think you need to ask ahead of time. I met Mr. and Mrs. Pletcher (spelling?) the following morning but forgot to ask. That said, the only guaranteed food is the locale mini mart/gas station. However, they do have homemade sandwiches/hot food which was quite reasonable and delicious. The Trailside Brewing Co. brings in a food truck (also homemade and delicious) but not there all the time.| Overall a great reasonable priced place to stay and a chance to meet...
Read moreI loved this place. I arrived very late and the Café where you get signed in was closed. Now What? Well, some guy walks over to me after I rolled past him a minute before and asks me if I would like for him to call the owner to get me signed in. Of course I said yes and thinking I would probably have to go back to the bike trail and stealth camp for the night. No more than 5 minutes goes by and this lady shows up and opens the whole place up for me and gets me registered and brings me linens and towels and lets me buy some baked snacks and a drink. Only on Main Street, Rockwood, PA, does this happen. There was another person staying here and he was really happy to show me around. He even helped me bring my bike to the basement to lock up for the night. This will always be a destination for me from now on. Very lovely people. This is just hospitality at its best. Slept great here. The sleeping quarters were clean and the bathrooms were clean as well. They have a kitchen and a living room where you can just lounge....
Read morePrice changes when she looks at you. Stayed here once it was ok. Stoped on way back and price doubled for samething. And when I said something about it she said I were Liars. She runs a local racket in town where she controls the only local food market I would not stay here as she may not like you as well( for some reason). She was trying to charge me as much as an expensive hotel to sleep on a communal bunk bed. If you are willing to travel a couple miles out of town there are places for half of what she charges and you get an entire room to yourself plus complimentary breakfast. There is also another place called Husky Haven you can camp across the river for $15 a person there is power in the bath house. I would highly recommend this...
