Grace Motor Mall — Local services in Blair Township

Sold 16yr old a car of doom. After seeing the car on cargurus website I called Grace Motor Mall and talked to Cade. I explained to him I'm a single mom the car is for my daughter 16th birthday. I asked not to waste my time or his time and be honest what shape the car was in because I live an hour and half away. He said car looks good. I said well I have been told that many times and get to dealership and it's not. He assures me hes being honest because it's his dad's business and his name means everything would never ruin his name. My daughter drove her new car home when we got home she told me about the issues she had driving home. I called a very reputable certified dealership that was local to me. The car needs over $6,000 of repairs. It's not worth fixing. I called Cade regarding the issue and he was not available nor did he return my call. I then text message him and he replied if you want to discuss anything call Bart Lewis tomorrow after 9am. I called and of course he wasn't available nor did I get a call back so I called again in the afternoon someone did put me thru to Bart he called me by a differ name I said no he said oh thought you were someone else ( no wonder I got thru) he said he had to pull my file and look at my driver license because he didnt remember me or my daughter. He proceeds to yell calling me a liar and that his son never promised anything. I apologize saying I misspoke he assured me not promised. He called me a liar again stating his son never guaranteed a car. I said I never claimed he did. He continues to yell at me that the place I took the vehicle (which he had no idea where) was trying to rip me off and that he can get parts at cost. The cars not worth the cost of repairs and that should tell me the place I took the car is trying to rip me off. I explained not at all they told me flat out the cars not worth fixing. He proceeded to belittle me stating numerous times that I signed 4 different docs stating as is and $5,000 is nothing. I said maybe to you but not a single mom. He says Ok it is alot of money I have a $7,000 golf cart that needs work. I said no matter what the bottom line the vehicle should have never been on your lot for sale and just because I signed as is doesn't change the fact you ripped me off. He said they dont check there vehicles. I said well the prior owner definitely knew. He argued stating no they didnt and if you ever met them you wouldn't be saying this. I said its dripping oil and the fact that when you lift the hood the entire top side was cleaned spotless someone knew. More back and forth he final says if he decides to look at it that doesn't mean hes fixing anything and to call him back Mon or Tues, it was Thursday. Hes never available nor do I get a call back. He claimed his bad reviews were from people that he calls liars and I'm going to be so happy with Grace Motor Mall I'm going to say nothing but good stuff. After the above posted review I received a response from Bart Lewis (he posted it below mine you can read it) seemed so nice like he was really willing to fix the car. I called and to my surprise Bart answered ( I couldn't even get him to return any of my phone calls before posting my review) He said I told you to call service and schedule an appointment. I apologized and said ok what is services phone # I just assumed it was this one. He said it is, let me remind you of what you seem to not be able to remember from our last conversation (prior to my review).He proceeded to tell me something completely different. I told him that's not what he said at all and I told him what he said to me. He claimed I was yelling at him. I asked if he was really going to be decent and fix the car or just wasting my time again. He told me I obviously cant hear correctly and then I went ahead and wrote a bogus review. I said i can hear prefect and I can speak fluent English and not to belittle any further. He told me he had alot of people around him last time we talked. Worst vehicle I've ever owned .. services are probably one of the worst. Let's start I bought my truck less that a year ago apon purchase truck looked good and drove even better. One week later both front calipers locked up almost causing a accident took it in . They "found nothing wrong " took it back did the same thing 2 days later also battery kept dyeing. .. took it in once again grace said "no problems" sent me on my way.. breaks locked up on my way home and had it towed home.. had to take off both callipers myself and take them in to show them they were locked up to get new ones also put them back on myself ...still under warranty buy the way ... also still had the battery problem and found out the brand new clutch with less than 5k miles leaked ... to which they say is "my driving style". Ha.. sure .. take it in again for the battery turns out my headlight switch is causing the lights to come on when the truck is off ... they rig it so it doesn't do the flashing and tell me to come back in a week when they have the part in... one week later and only 50 miles out of my worranty.. they then tell my they can't fix my truck without $220 .. cause my truck is no longer under warranty. . Even though they knew of the problem when it was ..... so that's still red neck rig by them .. since then basically everything on the truck has started to leak .. fast forward to today I was loading some tools in the back and noticed the bed looked a little funny low and behold both front bed supports are rusted through and so I go to grace and state that with all these problems they should give a guy a break who bought this truck to get to work and it's been nothing but problems it's the least they could do he starts raising his voice I start raising mine they ask me to come into the office so the other customers don't here I refuse stating maybe they should here that's when I was told to leave the cops were being called and also the wonderful boy even walked me to my truck and got in my face once I was seated and started threatened me.... don't waste your time...

Changing my review from a 5 star (for the “good customer service”) a 1 star 5.5 months later considering our truck hasn’t been driven even 3.5k miles and is now nothing more than one hell of an expensive paperweight. $6k later (and rising, as it’s currently not safe to drive and has been in the shop for 3 weeks), our truck had problems the moment we drove it off the lot. They were super helpful with our initial problems (broken wheel sensors and undisclosed rust hole in center of bed), but the moment the truck was paid off, all that was offered were empty platitudes. Buying a used vehicle is a gamble always - we know this. But a $44k investment should last longer than 6 months. 10/10 initial customer service, 0/10 quality assurance, 0/10 product longevity.

** Adding to my review in response to your reply: I aided in purchasing this truck financially and so I’d appreciate you not referring to it as “his” purchase. It is not “bashing” to report a negative (and truthful) experience - we’re truly bummed to have had this experience and are as disappointed in our experience as you are in our review. Calling you to discuss is a moot point, considering you offered no solutions when he did contact you, your most helpful response being “we pulled your file just now, unfortunately, you declined the extended warranty”. The only solace we could possibly find here is if you’d be willing to assist with half the bill... Oh, wait, you’re “not a bank”; forgive the suggestion. If you think a bad review hurts, try being the people who spent 44k of our extremely hard earned money on what we thought would be our “dream truck”. Please accept our negative experience, I promise you it’s been harder on us than on you. As mentioned prior, buying used is a gamble, and we lost. Wishing you many happy...
