Van Der Griend Farm Stand — Local services in Bloom Township

This was my first time visiting this farm stand a couple weeks back. I had a craving for a tomato sandwich but I did not want to go the store for a tomato. Now I always ride pass this place but never stop until I got this craving for a tomato sandwich. I am so glad that I did stop by. If you want great quality and freshness THIS IS A MUST! I am so happy that I did stop and try them. Not only did I get a tomato but I did keep going back. I got some fresh string beans, just wonderful by the way. I must say everything was fantastic. Also I went back and got some cabbage, avocados, pumpkins, and I even tried their homemade banana bread. Love it!!! Just a lovely farm stand. High praises, please keep this place going. Also when it was getting close to Halloween they had a little kids maze and somewhat like a bouncy house but not really but anywho definitely those that are interested definitely stop by. This will forever be my go to when I want good quality and freshness of fruits and vegetables....

This is absolutely the best farm stand in the IL south suburbs and NW Indiana. No, it's not the biggest but it doesn't need to be. It's the perfect size and they have just the right variety of fruits, vegetables and other great items!

One of their stars is the sweet corn and this year it may be the best ever and my family has been coming here for over 50 years. It is truly sweet corn and the batch we had tonight was sweeter than its ever been.

The Michigan blueberries are another star item. Not only are they extremely good for you but the ones grown in Michigan are the tastiest blueberries you will ever eat!

A great family-owned place. The corn is absolutely terrific. Whenever possible, they sell produce from their own farms (for instance, they get tomatoes from Kentucky early in the season so that they are available to customers, but switch to their own tomatoes as soon as they are available). The staff is friendly and helpful, and you can even place orders in advance by phone or in person if you want to buy large amounts of any particular produce (corn, apples for applesauce, etc. They also do pumpkins on their front lawn in the fall! They can be very busy on Saturdays in the summer, so...
