I lived here my freshman year, I'm a junior now. While I had my own issues with some of the food at the dining Hall, I came to realize that it was probably the best quality food on campus compared to the other...choices (if you can call them that anymore) that we as students are given. I came all the way over here all the time as a sophomore despite living in a different area of campus because of the quality of the food. Now as a junior coming here for the first time this schoolyear, I'm mildly disappointed to say the least. I dont know if I just caught them on an off day but every pizza I saw come from the pizza "restaurant" option was burnt to a crisp on the bottom. I mean I'm not exaggerating when I say it was completely black on the bottom. It was never like this before and it could be a taste preference but for me this renders the pizza inedible. They also got new pop machines (from my knowledge) which greatly limit the options for different sodas other than just coca cola. I'm noticing a pattern with the quality of IU dining this year and it's an unfortunate one. Wright Quad is dine in only as well, limiting to the needs of on the go students with demanding schedules. Other than the combo meal options at the IMU, I'm pretty sure there are now no to go options for students on the weekends due to the way they completely ruined Book market Eatery and turned it into the IMUs less attractive twin sibling. If you're reading this as a student, living at forest was okay. It was quite a louder scene than i liked but the dorms are decently nice, but getting a meal plan might not be worth it when the food on campus is...
Read moreI can't say this is the best quad at IU, but it certainly far from the worst. Each building has both communal and all gender bathrooms. Most dorms are large enough to house two people. The custodial staff seems to be a bit limited, presumably due to some students inability to follow instructions, but those who remain do try their best. I've not noticed many problems here. Most students seem to be genuinely kind and helpful. There are also two computer labs in the quad. One closes at midnight and the other is accessible by residents of Magee. Both of which have network enabled printers on site. There is no food hall in Foster quad, but there is one across the street in McNutt. Foster quad also has it's own volleyball court and a plethora of relatively tamed wildlife such as squirrels and rabbits. A creek runs through the middle of the quad and is generally a nice place to sit and relax. Sadly, the parking lot can get pretty congested at times due to the sheer volume of Ubers and Door Dashers, so getting in and out can be a bit of a headache. Especially between 4PM and 10PM.
Dumpsters are conveniently located outside of every building and a public outdoor pool is less than a block away. The stadium is also right around the corner. Briscoe and McNutt are both within walking distance and there are multiple restaurants and a convenience stores located a short distance away. From this quad, a student should be able to access any part of campus within 10 minutes if driving. There's also a fairly large soccer field right down the road and a sports and recreation center right...
Read moreForest is a very nice dormitory on Indiana University campus. I have lived here before and it is very nice. It's always clean and a nice comforting place to stay. The forest cafeteria is also very nice and clean. It's cozy and a nice setting. There are times where the wait can be very long, what the wait is worth it. Although I hate the food at the Italian place. The sauces do not taste right and the pizza is awful. All of the other places have amazing food and there are plenty of different options for both food and drinks. I do highly recommend this place not only to live, but to...
