FIRST: I don't know about the Korean food side.
SECOND: The place is called Mura SUSHI and I have literally had better sushi from a gas station. IDK how but the rice was dry and had a sandy texture and the salmon/crab was tasteless. I was completely unable to tell 3 out of our 4 rolls apart as they were all bland and tasteless. (3 were the specialty kind). Also there was no Gari for palate cleansing.
I'm just hoping I didn't get sick as I don't know how you would make the sushi ingredients taste this way without constantly freezing and defrosting them...
THIRD: Came with Miso soup I did not order. Once again tasted bland, not gonna knock it too hard as it was a free bonus error but like the penny packets in college had more flavor.
Bad enough to leave a review to ward others away from the sushi here. Go get gas station sushi or Aldi's like frozen sushi if you need it that badly. (Or any other sushi restaurant in Bloomington if ya want...
Read moreGood experience. I appreciated the dedicated vegetarian menu section. The atmosphere is no frills but the presentation of the food was very nice. I ordered the tofu dolsot, which included banchan brought out before the main dish. As for the main dish, I thought maybe there was a slight funkiness to the taste of the tofu from the frying oil, but aside from that, the dish was delicious. I loved the crispy rice at the bottom of the bowl. It was a generous portion and I think it was pretty good value for the price ($20 after tax/tip). The waitstaff was friendly and the preparation of the food...
Read moreGot carry out. Service was great. Sushi was worth 50 dollars and we spent 90. If there weren't students there throughout the year the place probably wouldn't make money on sushi. I hope they increase their quality of ingredients and preparation because it currently isn't worth the price they charge. It's almost offensive to me. I'm not an expert and my standards are reasonable. Additionally, they put sauce on a simple California role which ruined it. I say all this as constructive feedback in hopes it will be helpful to the owners. I understand the hardship of business ownership. The dumplings were good and the sauce they came with was good. I'd stick with that if you're...
