I have never written a review before but feel need to in this instance. Swimthings is a company that fails to communicate, is unorganized, inconsiderate and disrespectful of the customer. What should be an exciting time, has become one of the most frustrating & worst experiences I have had to deal with.
In June 2020 I paid my deposit for an inground pool. At that time, I was told construction would start either late fall or l would be one of the first ones in the Spring of 2021.
In January I reached out to Vince & was told the excavation date was 04/12/21.
When I signed the contract in February, I was told the start date moved to 04/19/21 & allow 1 month for completion.
In April I took 3 days off work to be home for excavation. I hadn’t heard from anyone, so I contacted Dallas on April 18th & told date moved to 05/03/21.
However, May 3rd came and went. No one showed or called. Again, reached out to Dallas told date had moved again to 05/07/21 but yet again, no one showed up or called.
On May 10th I contacted Dallas he stated, work would start “in the new future” told him that was unacceptable, and I would find another contractor.
Vince then called a few hours later & said excavation would start Tuesday, May 11th. On May 11th Vince called said they would be there Wed, May 12th. At that time, told Vince I would higher the landscaper to put in the retaining wall. I asked him to give me a few days’ notice when they were going to be ready the retaining wall. He said they would.
May 12th – No one showed up or called. I reached back out to Vince he stated they would be there May 13th by 9 am. Excavator showed up but the dump truck did not so he stated he couldn’t dig much.
Next week & half it rained so no work could be done
June 5th Vince stated they would be ready to pour the patio this week if retaining wall was completed. (Did not get the few days’ notice I asked for). He stated they would grade yard & liner would go in the following week.
June 10th Vince was going to let me know what time to meet him to mark the area for the concrete. I told him that the fence was scheduled for June19th. He reassured me that was no problem that the equipment should be gone by that time. However, in order for the fence to be installed I had to move their trash, 2x4’s, and empty pallets out of the way.
June 11th I never heard from Vince on a time so I asked again what time we were going to meet. We made arrangements to meet at noon. I left work and waited for an hour – he never showed or called. I sent a text letting him know I went back to work. I marked the lines for the concrete myself. Asked when I could expect completion. Told concrete by next Thursday, June 17th. Then they would need to do floor and he was going to check on the liner.
June 15th, I notified Vince their equipment damaged my neighbors side walk when they added footing to the pool. Asked if it could be fixed at the same time, they poured the concrete, but got no response
June 17th, I asked to have trash & dirt removed from the yard so landscapers could finish. Vince stated it would be the next day. 1 truck load of dirt removed but the other one remains. No trash was removed. In fact, more trash in the yard.
June 22nd Asked again if they could remove the dirt and trash. Vince stated it would all be removed the next day. Stated liner been on order 3 for weeks. (Don’t understand why the liner wasn’t ordered in February when I signed the contract or even in May when excavation started). They were still needing to install plumbing for the equipment.
As of June 26th, trash and pile of dirt still remains. There has been no work done since June 19th.
This has been going on nearly 2 ½ months & I still don’t have a pool. Seems I won’t for a while longer, apparently the liner has not come in and pumps still need to be installed. Not to mention weather forecast is for rain next several...
