Since Cinemas 8 or Carmike or AMC or whatever they were called closed down a few years ago, this area has been very limited in the way of movie theaters. While one in Bluefield filled the gap, it was too small (2 screens, I think) to accommodate new releases in a timely fashion. The area has needed this theatre and it has been nicely done (except the lobby, which looks like my garage with slightly less clutter--but you don't sit in the lobby to watch your movie. So there's that.) There is web based ticket purchasing and it's simple. You can see the seats and choose where you want, so that's nice. I'm sure you can purchase tickets in the lobby as well. The seats themselves are quite comfortable (at least the VIP ones are. Those seats can only be purchased in a pair and are only a dollar more than any other ticket--so, worth it.) The screens really could be bigger and more could have been done with the audio in my opinion, but overall it's a notable improvement over what was there prior. It's not IMAX, but this isn't really an IMAX market. In summation: better than it was before it closed down, adequate altogether, meets expectations with regard to audio/video quality, accommodations are great (by which I am referring to the seating), simple time saving ticket purchasing options. Overall it's great for here, even if the lobby does look like a...
Read moreWhile the convenience of buying tickets online is easy, there are a few issues. First, can we fix the Air Conditioning. We saw 2 movies weeks apart and in 2 different theaters. The Air Con is like hardly working.. and in peak summer. Next, we optioned for the VIP package seating, and both times, the concessions would not deliver to our seats. The app/website says 15 minutes prior to the screening starting, but each time, there was no response. There doesn't seem to be anyone checking tickets or higher end security, so next time, I will just walk in and watch whatever movie I want. Because there is not a security plan to even check bags or anything, people can bring in anything from outside. While I appreciate that we can get our own popcorn and drinks having a VIP pod seating, this should be included . The bathrooms are always loud with music, and the soap doesn't feel like it really works. The arcade is just claw machines and rather dull. Back to security, nothing stops someone from just walking in and potentially harming movie watchers, which makes it apprehensive . The popcorn isn't anything really, and they charge more than they should for a bag of candy that you can find at the dollar store. I'm really upset that we can see the same movies for cheaper and in better conditions, just a few more minutes...
