These 3 stars aren't a true representation of this #Mall. I wanted to make sure and add my reasons for only 3 stars. The mall itself is very conveniently located with exceptional access off of #US460. There's a great abundance of free parking closely aligned with both anchor store and main mall entrances. Large interior footage with a nice expansive open-air area. (Would make a great spot to add a #waterfall and walk bridge with lounge/rest fixtures). There is a number of well stocked and modern design merchants stores located within but It's just such a large overall building that even with a decent number of stores the mall still seems empty. All in all though they're nothing that compares to that #nostalgic feeling of days past. You remember? from nights you couldn't sleep in anticipation of aisles after aisles of toy store dreams. And teenage sense of #empowerment when your parents first said "yes go hang with your friends". From #firstdates with young hearts filled with #excitement To the early years of your own little family continuing what had long ago became a tradition. #Christmas shopping, back to #school preparedness, #valentines , #Halloween that special b-day gift you knew ould be there. Those 10-20 & 30 yr #anniversary dates of dinner, #movie & a gift brought back #home. You see I never once talked about #shoes or #cloths ,not about #jewelry or #fashion . Didn't mention #brands nor #advertising ,neither #specials or #bogodeals . That's because those wasn't never what our local malls were about. All the new and exciting merchandise in the world never held value like the true reason we loved the Mall. You remember? Don't you! #support your #localmalls , that's memories worth passing down. Yes there is #bigboxstores but also there's many many people just like you and me that are reaching for thier own dreams and Their own little shop at the Mall. Big #corporations , #boardofdirecter , #owner .. #reinvest in an American tradition. Lower those #overhead costs while you give back to the #community . Watch #dreams , #listentolaughter , and #notice that #togetherness come #backtolifeagain . @MercerMall @Mercerwv @southernwestvirginiashopping

Read moreMercer Mall, Mercer Mall. It's no wonder the local residents suffer from the highest rate of depression out of all 50 states. This place has hit the bottom of the barrel and the owners should just shutter and bulldoze the place. I grew up here and my memories of this place are awesome, but that was because I didn't know any better. Malls are going extinct and if you visit this place you'll understand why. The only upside to this place is that they recently opened a Planet Fitness, so now you can work out and maybe walk around and look at all the empty store fronts. This place could serve a much better role if they cut their losses and started over with a new idea. Mercer Mall used to be a happening place to go in Mercer County, but now it's just a sad reminder of just how rural people are here. There is a plus or two. Macado's serves alcohol and there's a gym now, but if you are looking to buy fashion or really anything else up to date, then steer clear of here. You're better off going to Walmart. The stores I've visited are overpriced and not worth the effort. If you've been to a shopping center in any relatively big city then you will see this place and weep. It seems to me the only people that benefit from this place are the old folks that like to power walk its perimeter. There is a separate movie theater, which is about the only good thing (other than the Planet Fitness). The land that the mall currently occupies would be much better suited for something else. Maybe a parking lot. The only reason I gave this place 2 stars is that it's basically the only place to go in the area that's not either a strip mall or a Walmart. Hobby Lobby is fun, but they are notoriously expensive. If you haven't been like most people and started shopping online and you are absolutely dead set on going to a shopping mall, then I'd suggest keep on driving to Charleston, Roanoke or even Winston Salem. Going to Mercer Mall just may invoke feelings of depression and a longing for times gone by. I'd suggest finding an alternative if you are trying to...
Read moreI'm sorry, there are not a whole lot of good things to say about Mercer Mall, other than it's a local business that supports our local economy. I go here when I need to. BAM and Rural King coming into the mall probably saved it from being shut down. If you need something, it's a decent place to shop but many people go out of the area to Christiansburg, Beckley, or Roanoke. The mall has carpet, which is not pleasant. It used to be much prettier with a pond but it's all been removed. The parking lot is atrocious, they should put Sears back so you can at least get new tires while you shop because of all the potholes. This mall has been going downhill for a long time. It's a shame because they could do so much better with it and increase revenue. There is a Portabellos, Macados, Chik-Fil-A, Subway, and Sunny's. The Bath And Body Works store just re-opened after renovations and it's great! I believe there is only 1 place left here to get a haircut/waxing. One shoe store left. Dollar Tree, FYE, Game Stop, Maurice's, Spencers, American Eagle, Rue 21, Justice, Piercing Pagoda, Claire's, Rose's, J.C. Penney's are among the last stores. No pet store. No toy store. No bank. There is an arcade but it needs serious improvement. It's sad how many stores shut down. The entire mall could do well with major re-vamping and fixing the...
