I originally came to Susan in March of this year to have the top of my wedding dress recreated, she assured me she would be able to create my gown as described by mid July and that she'd contact me once she received the appropriate material. A month later I contacted her after not hearing from her, it was then that she told me she had the material and to come in for a fitting. I did this, and then scheduled our next fitting for 2 weeks from then. The day of my second fitting she texted me to reschedule for a week later. So three weeks from my first fitting I went to Susan for my second fitting and nothing was done, the dress was in pieces. We then scheduled a third fitting for 2 weeks from then, the morning of she texted me to reschedule for a week later. She said she overbooked herself, and hasn't had time to get to my dress. Why she didn't notify me earlier, instead of the morning of I don't understand. Finally a week later, over two months from originally meeting with Susan I had my third fitting, the dress still in pieces, little to no improvement from the previous fitting three weeks prior. Long story short I went to pick up my dress the first week of August, a month later then she promised, it still wasn't finished. At this point I wasn't happy with her inability to commit to me or the time frame we committed to. Although beautiful the dress wasn't what we planned and I had zero confidence in Susan's ability to finish it in time. I decided I'd have better luck starting from scratch and buying a new dress. I expressed my concerns to Susan and she acted very unprofessionally and personally offended. At that point she expected payment in full for a unfinished dress. After rescheduling every one of my appointments, her poor project management skills and being over a month late she refused to come to a payment agreement, she gave me the choose to pay in full or forfeit my dress. Throughout the 6 months of "working" with Susan she kept saying it's a process, it takes time while constantly rescheduling me and putting my dress on the back burner. It wasn't until a week before her deadline that she actually starting putting the dress together. Susan seems like a nice woman, however I have zero confidence in Susan's ability to project manage or commit to a schedule. I wouldn't recommend hiring her for any work that has a time requirement, as she shows no ability to prioritize. 6 months to create the top of a dress is a ridiculous amount of time, and the manner that she handled me and her dress was absolutely horrible. I strongly recommend Susan at Charmed Life Sewing for your sewing, alterations, and embroidery needs. I needed alterations to a new suit and my wife stumbled upon Susan after searching through various review sites and then making some calls (turns out, there seems to be a relative dearth of quality tailors and seamstresses in Salt Lake County). We are delighted to have found a consummate professional whom we trust based on her competence, cost, kindness, and speed.

Despite very clearly having no shortage of demand for her services (seriously, at least three other customers came and went in the twenty minutes I was first onsite for a fitting), Susan was willing to accommodate our request same day and scheduled me for a fitting within two hours of our call, early on a Saturday afternoon. She was meticulous in her measurements. She proactively offered a second fitting, after she made an initial set of adjustments, so that I could try the suit on and make sure I was happy before she finalized the stitching. Upon return, her finished work product was spot on. Throughout the process, she kept me apprised of progress through text and phone, was willing to accommodate my schedule, delivered on time and on cost (which was very affordable), all as promised. And as importantly, she was a very pleasant and kind individual with whom to interact throughout.

Susan was great and did exactly/more than what I was hoping for. I brought in my plan to get a costume made in time for Halloween and a new movie premiere and she was more than accommodating with my wants and needs. I provided the material myself because I was picky about what I wanted it to be, but Susan provided her own ideas and options along the way.

In the end the costume turned out great and I received an endless stream of compliments.
