After seeing how they left the couch delivered to my dad and sister and the the reply left to Nadia Stilson review, it seems this companies priorities vs customer care are priority. A review is based on the customer experience. To say someone is not being "authentic" is a way to change the narrative, instead of owning the situation.
While I appreciate you detailing your perspective, it further highlights the unprofessionalism of your service. Your attempt to frame an accurate review as 'inauthentic' remains insulting.
The custom dimensions were a service I paid for, not a favor. The initial deposit was a standard business practice, not an act of charity on your part. We appreciate the part taken to help create the dimensions we wanted. Of course, cost can be negotiated with most business transactions. Both parties agreed and you were paid a deposit and remainder at the time the couch was completed.
Your delivery policy of 'curbside or garage drop-off only' conveniently changed when you offered to bring it inside for an additional fee, which we agreed to. The fact that your team was ill-equipped to handle a common home layout issue like a split entry, nor prepared with their own tools to complete the assembly they were paid for, is not the buyers responsibility.
Expecting a customer to provide tools for a service they paid for is unprofessional. Leaving a heavy piece of furniture precariously balanced sideways because your drill died is a failure on your part, not mine.
A handshake and a request for your business name were standard polite interactions and do not negate the subpar service received. The subsequent negative review was a direct result of that poor service and the disrespectful way the couch, a customers home space and time were treated.
You then backtracked and stated the father needed to be home at the time, regardless of her living with him and being part of the purchase, picking materials, her being the main one you interacted with the entire process, etc. from the beginning.
However, when she expressed he would be out of town at the time you wanted to deliver and if the delivery could wait, the answer was "No, we don't have room to store it so you'll need to figure it out". When she informed you to just deliver it, dad not being home was no longer an issue in your part as long as it was out of your way. Prior to the delivery, your company was called several times (even before he went out of town), asking for updates so we could make sure everything was prepared on our end. She was told "It's being worked on, no update." If she hadnt called the other day to get another update and set your delivery, when we're they going to be updated?
Focusing on the 'effort' made, while disregarding the unsuccessful and incomplete delivery, misses the point entirely. A successful delivery includes proper installation, especially when an extra fee is charged for in-home service.... even if coming back to complete the set up is the next step.
The feedback is accurate and based on the reality of the situation. Perhaps focusing on improving your delivery service and equipping your team appropriately would prevent similar 'unforeseen challenges' and negative reviews in the future. As someone directly involved in the situation, seeing how things were left with unprofessional delivery and subsequent lack of accountability, then helping by fixing the mess, my review is an honest reflection of those events. The attempt to discredit my feedback by focusing on my status as not being the direct purchaser does not negate the validity of what occurred.
While you claim transparency, blocking the original purchaser from further discourse suggests otherwise. Your defensiveness and accusations of harassment deflect from the core issue: the substandard service provided.
We stand by our account and possess evidence to support it as well. Constructive criticism stems from genuine experiences, and in this case, it's a direct response to the...
Read moreI will never go through this company again. They had a difficult time getting the couch in the house through the door front door, which I understand. So they had to use a back door. Which resulted in having to take the feet off the couch. Which is fine. But they never put the couch together for us nor did they put the feet back on. I am having a hard time getting them back on because the holes on the outside don’t match up with the wood holes on the inside to screw them on securely. See photos this is how they left my house. Nothing put together the pillows thrown everywhere. Pretty upsetting. To add on top of it I paid them extra to bring the couch inside and not a front porch delivery. I would think that paying extra for them to deliver inside they would put the couch back together, to me that’s what would make sense. But I don’t know…
Addition to my review: he tried to offer me a refund on delivery to take down the honest review. That says a lot about the people we are dealing with.
It's interesting that you're focused on the 'authenticity' of my review rather than the actual rude and unprofessional behavior I experienced from you and your wife (that I originally left out as a courtesy). My review accurately reflects the situation, including the state you left my couch in – photos don't lie.
Your belated awareness of my home's layout after an hour of struggling is hardly my fault. As for the drill issue, leaving a heavy couch sideways and expecting a customer to finish the installation, especially after making you late, is unacceptable service.
While I appreciate the offer of a $75 refund, it doesn't negate the disrespect and inconvenience I endured. Your concern for your Google reviews now, versus ensuring a positive experience for a paying customer in the first place, speaks volumes.
Consider this more than just a review; it's direct feedback on how not to treat your customers. Perhaps investing in better customer service training would be more beneficial for your 'small business' than questioning a customer's honesty when faced with the consequences of your own...
Read moreOkay first things first, this was the BEST purchasing experience I could have asked for! I cannot recommend Kolton and his company enough! From start to finish, the custom couch-building process was absolutely amazing. I’m not even exaggerating when I say that they were an absolute dream to work with—professional, attentive, and genuinely invested in making sure I got exactly what I wanted! :)
I also just wanted to emphasize the quality of the couch!! We searched just about every retail store including Ashley, RC Willy’s, you name it and Kaye’s Furniture was so much better. The price was incredibly reasonable for such a high-quality, custom piece. I no joke feel like I got a luxury couch without having to pay the luxury price! He made our experience very personal and encouraged us to pick our own colors and shape! He also delivered the couch right to our...
