So frustrated with our experience with Salty Jewelry. I came and got permanent bracelets with my daughters over spring break in April. Within a couple weeks, my daughter's bracelet had come off. It just fell off when she was closing the shower door...we called and had to make an appointment to go back in to have it put on again, but with my daughters work, school and graduation we didn't get it back on until mid-June.
Within a couple weeks the bracelet came off AGAIN (without any kind of rough incidents that would have yanked it off), but this time the chain was lost. I contacted Lindsey to see if she'd be willing to offer some kind of discount on a replacement chain since the welded jump ring failed not once, but twice. She offered 20% off. After a little pressing, she agreed to 30%, but these chains are marked up like 500%! And 30% was the "best" she could do.
When I explained my frustration with the quality of the chain/weld/"Permanence" of the "permanent" jewelry, Lindsey explained to me that this jewelry is not indestructible. My daughter isn't in sports, isn't babysitting, wrestling or roughhousing or anything else that would cause the welded link to break, not once but TWICE. She wears lots of other non-permanent jewelry and does not have any problems with less expensive, less permanent jewelry falling apart or breaking, so I don't think her "lifestyle" can be blamed for her bracelet coming off.
I guess I should have understood better up front that I should realistically expect wear to last for as little as approximately 4 weeks with "permanent" jewelry. It was almost $70 for this permanent bracelet, which was fine when I expected it to last for a good while, but not for just a couple weeks at a time.
To make matters worse, scheduling the second appointment to get a new chain and have the jewelry bonded again was a pain. We showed up at our scheduled time (6:30) and sat for 45 minutes while the employee struggled to get the bracelet on the customer ahead of us before finally asking for help from another employee who knew exactly what to do. Not prioritizing scheduled, waiting customers with literally a 5 minute request (when you require extra time with another customer) was supremely frustrating and just added insult to injury.
Bottom Line: Salty does not stand behind their product or service. If you have problems post-sale, you're pretty much out of luck. I would not recommend Salty Jewelry Co and their poor customer service, poor quality products and poorly trained...
Read morePretty cool place. I took my daughter here on Saturday and we made some rings. We had the late night (6-8pm) appointment. I think the girl helping us might’ve been a bit rushed in showing us things but she was really nice. My ring got damaged during the process and melted a bit and we prob should’ve started over but didn’t do it fits my finger kinda crappy. Also one of the bands isn’t fully connected because when it started to melt the wrong way we stopped before the band was fully connected. I felt a bit rushed during the process, I would’ve liked to have spent more time being more detailed in shaping my band and the polishing process especially. Even though there were a few issues I’m giving five stars because me and my daughter had a blast and the memory making part is what it’s all about. I just wish I could wear my ring. Knowing what I know now I’d like to go back and do it again. My only feedback is that I think the person teaching the class should be a bit more vocal about explaining things and give a little more time when it comes to letting the people in the class work on the little details. We did not go over on time. In fact, we were done by 7:30. For the price of the rings and class I think spending the full two hours should be expected. I really want to go back and would recommend going to anyone.
UPDATE: They reached out to me about my ring that didn’t fit or look right and had me drop it off so they could fix it. They also polished mine and my daughter’s rings and gave us both a necklace. They took very good care of us and made sure we had rings we were happy with! Very impressed with the...
Read moreFirst and foremost if you are looking to actually make a ring, this is not for you. The majority of the “class” is spent watching the employees do the work. If you want a custom ring where you pick everything, this is good. The shop is clean. Two out of three of the employees helping us were very nice and friendly. *As discussed on the phone, there were two other women at our table (not in our group) who were making comments throughout the class. I was not disrespectful to your employees. If you want to discredit me, and therefore my review, find something true to type. As my review states, two of them were great. The third was obviously at the end of her day and was ready to go home. I also told you on the phone I understand your equipment is not for everyone to use. That’s fine, but advertise the class appropriately. Watching your instagram reels it looks like the customer shapes the spoon ring. Your employees did that all for my 16 year old capable daughter. This is no disrespect to you or your shop. Merely, advertise the class for what it fully is. If your employees are asking for reviews and showing the QR code to leave a review, be prepared...
