Updating my review since we visited today and saw that Smith's made the changes I mentioned in my last review. There were no more solicitors in the store today and the produce was properly washed/clean. We also took note of the wide aisles and we loved the general layout of the store. Upgrading my review to 5 stars.
Second update: the pharmacy workers are really nice and helpful. I didn't recognize that a doctor prescribed an OTC drug that I could have purchased for cheaper in the store, so a person at the pharmacy showed me exactly what I was looking for and helped me save money. 5 stars for the pharmacy! This grocery store is pretty nice and gives Harmon's a run for its money. However, I hated having to dodge the MasterCard solicitors walking all throughout the store. They are literally everywhere and you can't escape them. You end up trying to keep your head down and avoiding eye contact, which in turn doesn't allow you to really explore the store as much as you want, to see all of the things this Smith's has to offer. This was the biggest reason why I dropped my star rating. Get these solicitors out of your store!!!
This Smith's has a seafood/sushi section, a decent cheese section, flowers, bakery, deli, and a decent produce section. One note I made about the produce section was that some of the produce was really dirty. I took a couple pics to show what I'm talking about, but it looked like the whole batch was dropped in the mud and not really cleaned off.
They have some cute baked goods in their bakery section that I would definitely consider bringing to an office party.
Also when you're looking through the coupons available through their app, make sure you pay attention to whether or not those coupons are for "only pickup or delivery;" some coupons you think you're getting in-store won't register when you check out.
Going through the self check out was also a bit of a wait because the weight systems haven't been calibrated properly yet. Every few items, I'd have to have someone from the store scan/approve the screen so I could keep scanning my items.
If you're looking to get pumpkins for Halloween, I'd probably wait a bit longer; the prices aren't great as of...
Read moreAt Grand opening they had so many attentive employees waiting to ring you up or help you find something, But those were obviously brought in for the big day. I come here twice a week due to convenience, but every visit since day 1 has been an exercise in futility! Today’s visit I asked for something and two different employees looked it up to tell me that it was on aisle 4, but they didn’t know where aisle 4 was. I went in search of aisle 4, I couldn’t find it, asked them again and they said where it should be but couldn’t help me find it. I finally just went to the front of the store, found a manager, told her what I was looking for and requested that somebody just go get it for me. She went in search of it and after 10 minutes of waiting, I cashed out and left. I really don’t enjoy driving down to 123rd or further still to 106th when I live so close to the new Smiths, But they really need to do something about their training and adopting a helpful attitude when people ask for help...
Read moreI know it’s brand new, however train your cashiers to take our phone numbers so we can be credited the deals. I’m an avid smiths shopping and was so happy to have one close by! I love giving the cashier my phone number and watching the amount due go down on the screen. I went today for the first time and after she told me the total, I asked if she needed my number. To which she said “no your good.” And I replied, “did I get the deals?” She said yes. So I was thinking maybe it was a grand opening ordeal. Nope. Got to the car and looked closer at my receipt. So unimpressed. I’ll be going back to the smiths in draper until these employees are...
