We were in the event for 3 hours on the kids section and down by the water Then we got told we had to leave because we didn’t pay the fifteenth dollars for arm bands There were no signs that stated on the kids side that we needed to pay We didn’t even go on the other side of this roots festival But nice set up and good times Just next time this place needs more signs at front gate or intersection of the park for out of town people Then my wife bought kids balloons and snowballs and they had the police come over and ask if we were told we had...

Closed so you couldn't go inside but you could peak inside and read the interpretive panels and of course you could read the interpretive panels that are on the outside.

This little house with it's great history was a total surprise. So glad we stopped at the park for a picnic lunch and spent a little time walking around the building and thinking about the people who lived there and the lives...

Beautiful restoration. Great history of a freed slave. The structure dates to 1870 and is an excellent example of Carolina Lowcountry vernacular architecture of the late-19th century. The building was constructed during the Reconstruction Era; a historic period rarely represented architecturally due to the impermanence of the construction methods...
