I eat here often, and now ate here again. This time, though I am not a vegetarian, I tried their grilled tofu, with grilled green peppers, and other healthy grilled vegtables, all smothered in a brown sauce. Their meals come with 2 extra sides. I chose their delicious steamed cabbage, and their macaroni & cheese, which is baked, with plenty of cheesy sauce. This was one of the best meals I have had recently anywhere!

They serve Caribbean food here, including chicken, pork, shrimp, oxtails, goat, and more. They have different types of fish, cooked different ways, and a special salt fish, and a few other vegetarian meals. All their food is good, but I would add that another of my favorite meals, a fish with healthy vegetables, covered in a creamy white sauce, and that still comes with 2 added sides, is the best fish dish I have ever eaten anywhere!

There is a small bar here, and 3 areas with tables. You can bring children, and they can watch TV whole they eat, but it can also be very cozy for a romantic meal. Or used for group gatherings.

There are also 2 different outdoor eating areas. One kind of private on the front porch with pleasant green scenery, and the other with an area where you can not only eat, but also mingle and enjoy cornball or the children can play.

I recommend this place for people looking for a good meal, and friendly...

Hands down some of the tastiest, flavorful, and good quality Jamaican food we've ever eaten. The prices are fair for both the drinks & food. The oxtails in their gravy are tender and fall off the bone (passing the doness test). These will elicit a food orgasm for sure. The rice and beans were perfect. The jerk chicken sauce is amazing. I prefer my chicken fall off the bone as well, so I plan to order dark meat chicken next time. Patties are tasty. Now for the drinks...all the way on point! The rum punch took me back to Montego Bay...soo good👌🏽. I can only imagine the taste of the other drinks. They carry almost every Jamaican soda and beverage. My kid loves the cream soda. Staff were awesome. The owner and his wife were very pleasant and paid careful attention to our requests. This is definitely a family-friendly environment. There was no wait time and plenty of seating...keep in mind we visited on a Saturday in February, so warmer months may most likely be busier. There's even an outdoor area or two which takes us back to our time at Flavours Beach bar/restaurant in Runaway Bay, JA. We will be frequenting Red Stripes every time we visit Hilton Head Island in the future. I wish I could give more stars! This place is beyond amazing. To start, the food is delectable and authentic. The wings always amaze me with the flavor and how well cooked they are. So tender and delicious. I usually go for the curry chicken as my meal, but my husband likes to try different dishes and they have all been incredible. The cocktails are also unique and delish with an island flair. Next- the ambiance. A little piece of Jamaica in the lowcountry. Relaxed, quaint, clean, and a good vibe all around. And finally the reason we will always keep coming back- the service is top tier! The owner and family are absolutely amazing. Such hard working, kind, and down to earth people. They will make sure you are taken care of. They are genuine, courteous, and stand as the epitome for great service. They’ve cultivated quite an amazing establishment! Can’t wait for our next...
