American Freight Furniture & Mattress — Local services in Boardman

So I’m giving this a four star rating based off of my experience dealing with American freight. When I walked into the store I met with Garrett, I told him my situation and that I wanted to be quick because I was extremely exhausted. He said no problem follow me! Introduced me to Joseph and said that joe will get me started until he finishes up with his other customers. We looked at the bedroom sets and I picked one and reviewed price they were very great with teamwork, but I also grew up with guys like this smooth talkers fast talkers and I got the impression “yeah these guys might be the type of guys that can talk your grandma out of your trust fund” but everything they did and said was confirmed with the finance company so I can say they were some honest guys with me. Plus Garrett was excellent when it came to distracting my daughter who was 100mph with the questions while I was trying to review the paperwork, he asked her to help him out by product testing the recliner and he gave her a highlighter and paper to color on while she tested the recliner for comfortability, and this was impressive to me so thank you Garrett! Joe was quick with the paperwork and these guys had me out in a flash the only downside and reason for not receiving 5stars is because the day of delivery I was called and told there will be a fee of $90.00 which is fine because it’s a 3rd party and moving other people’s furniture all day everyday is a pain I mean I move people not furniture and I don’t receive a tip but that’s neither here nor there! The point of the matter is when I asked how much to deliver I was told “oh nothing man there is no charge” sure that was true because they didn’t charge me so yeah that was the only downside as long as my mattress doesn’t sink in after a month or two we won’t have an issue, thanks Garrett and Joseph for not taking my imaginary trusty trust fund! Oh and when the delivery guys came they said I had to put everything together myself I was told in the store no no no they do that hey two of the supporters aren’t in there and when I called they said oh we would never tell you that .... messed up but still better...

American Freight Furniture is absolutely horrible--NEVER buy from them! There is actually an entire group on facebook dedicated to saying what liars and cheats they are. My husband and I went to their store after seeing their ad which states you can get a sofa/loveseat combination for $698..Sofa only for $349" BUT when you get to their store, they point out that in tiny print it says "sold in sets only," and that is the price of the sofa inside the set. But the sofa ISN'T sold in sets only. They tell you at the store that you CAN purchase them separately, but not for the price they advertise. So basically that is two lies on their ad: the advertised price, and the fact that they are sold only in sets. They REFUSE to work with you and their corporate office is VERY demeaning when you call them to point out their poor marketing and business ethics. I am amazed that this company can even stay in business. See that "sofa for $349"?? You'll NEVER get a sofa for that price here, it's a BIG LIE. The corporate head-honcho says, "Now that you understand that is the price when sold in a set..." No I don't understand that because that's not at all what their ad says! It says that is the price and that they are ONLY sold in sets, which isn't true. Gahhh I am SO angry.

Not to mention the workers LIED to us saying that their corporate office always handles these matters quickly when customers are upset. NOT TRUE, there are hundreds of unsolved complaints against the company, and the Attorney General's office has already gone after them once, yet they continue...

The staff is very helpful, Keilen was very informative with the selections of furniture and mattresses. There is a wide variety of furniture for every room in the house with prices that seem too good to be true! The down side is they don't have their own delivery staff/trucks. I was informed that the delivery fee would be $70 for a delivery not 5 miles from the store location and they DO NOT SET UP. So, no big deal, I used to work in a furniture store. Surely I can assemble a bedroom set with a little help from my son! I was skeptical but scheduled my delivery for a couple days out anyway due to urgency. I was told the delivery driver would call me when they are in route and scheduled between 12p-3p. I was to pay the delivery service when they arrive. The driver calls me at 12:45p on the scheduled date, stating he would arrive in approximately 45 minutes. At 1:45p I called the store to confirm the previously confirmed delivery time. I was told, the delivery driver would call me when they are in route. I explained that the delivery driver already called stating that they were in route but no one had arrived. Store staff was of No Assistance! At 2:45pm I called the store again.. same results. Finally at 3:30p the delivery truck pulls up into the driveway. They set the furniture in the livingroom and left. So, here we are trying to assemble this bedroom set. Attaching the mirror to the dresser was impossible considering ALL THE PARTS WERE NOT THERE! Attaching the headboard to the frame is also impossible when ALL THE PARTS ARE NOT THERE! So, again, the store staff is great! The entire delivery process was completely frustrating and unprofessional. I would not recommend spending money with this company. If I could give them negative stars it would be -5 stars!!
