First, I don’t want this review to sound like I am bashing or trashing this dealership. I just want to give a complete and honest run down of my thoughts and experiences for anyone like me who is also trying to decide on the correct route to take. Waited a few months to gather my thoughts in order to write the best review possible
Arrived at Mission wanting to trade in my 2021 Triumph Bobber for something a little larger. Wanted to use Synchrony as the same loan company. They offer zero percent interest for active-duty military. Figured this would be no problem since the Indian website states that they are one of the four banks that can be used for a loan. I explained this to the finance person at the dealership who then called her colleague, I believe his name was Adam, who then explained to me that he never heard of this before that was positive I was mistaken. Stated that he has been in this business for decades and that I must be mistaken. Explained to him that I have been calling them weekly, sometimes daily and that I am sure that they offer this. Stated that I have received a letter from them and that I am receiving a refund check for all the interest that I have paid over the years (Was unaware that they did this initially, and just recently found this out when I called them to change my mailing address. They have refunded me almost $3,000 worth of interest.) Understandable if they have a preferred bank that they personally like going through but I just felt like it was unprofessional for them to basically call me a liar and not be open to new information. No one knows it all no matter how long they’ve worked in a particular field. They also don’t like/want to/or have little to no interest installing third party parts/accessories which is extremely odd to me since it is common for one to want to customize an American V Twin cruiser. I feel like that is a given. The only thing I liked about Mission City was the salesman, Maverick. Super chill and easy to talk to. Seemed like a genuine person. The overall vibes for this dealership were off. Understand that I didn’t have to take the offer they gave me, but I was already fixated on getting a new motorcycle that day. No big deal.
Fast forward a couple weeks. I take my bike to Woods Cycle Country to get a Lloydz tune. Positive experience with great 5-star customer service. Fast forward a week or two after that and I get a third-party cosmetic part put on my bike. A part that mission city motorcycle would not install for either one of the reasons mentioned above. In summation, I would go to Woods Cycle Country if I could do it all over again. During this Woods County Cycle was also extremely helpful in diagnosing and rectifying some issues that I was having with the motorcycle.
Missions City Pros – Good Salesmen Cons – Doesn’t install third party parts, doesn’t have the ability to custom tune, finance guy
Woods Cycle County Pros – Installs third party parts, great customer service, ability to custom tune, offers Synchrony banks for loans (coworker recently got a bike from there. Contact Synchrony and has a zero percent loan) Cons- None so far. I am sure one or two will come to mind one day but overall there's...
Read moreSo here's my experience... I stopped by on a Saturday because I had been looking into getting an Indian for a while. Liked one, did the paperwork and waited about 30-45 minutes til everything came back. they were also running promotion for $1000 in accessories for police, fire and military. I told them I was EMS but not Fire certified but they couldn't work with that. I thought it was splitting hairs but let it at. As far as the paperwork, they wanted more money down than I initially had in mind so I said I would think about it. We were about $800 apart.
A few days later I got to talking with a buddy and decided to maybe give it a go. I called up the sales guy (forgot his name, guy with a goatee) in the morning and asked if he would be there about 5. He said he would and I again asked about the promotion. After asking his manager, he said it just wasn't workable so we ended the call with me maybe going later in the day. After talking with my buddy he said why not ask another dealership. I called Indian in Corpus Christi and they had the bike I wanted. Asked about the promotion and they said no problem. $100 less down payment than these guys and the $1000 in accessories. So took off early afternoon.
This is where it goes really down hill... I get a call from the sales guy asking if I was still going. I tell him about the deal I got in C.C. and how I was already on my way over there. He said to just go on back and they would beat the offer. When I kept asking what the counter offer was, they wouldn't say. Just that they could beat it. Since I was a good ways out already I wasn't going to turn around for something that isn't concrete. Hung up with him and get a call from the finance guy (don't know his name either). This guy then starts asking everything about the other deal. I thought, ok, they're working on beating the deal. Nope. He then starts to tell me that by law another dealer can't offer me a better deal. Really? By law? Since I had told them that I had the offer from C.C. in my email he wanted a copy. I said no, that I didn't want to get into a dealer to dealer dispute. The call degraded into an argument on lending laws and dealerships and the Indian corporate office. I told him I wasn't interested in arguing or helping them make a case or complaint on another dealership.
Needless to say I didn't buy there. The finance guy lost them the sale and any future business from me or my friends. If you can make the drive to Corpus Christi or Round Rock and avoid a potential headache then do it. At the very least you can negotiate better deals on accessories even if you can't on the price of the bike. 2 stars because the sales guy was trying though the rest of the team...
Read moreDO NOT BUY A BIKE OR ANYTHING FROM THIS DEALER!!! wish ---10 was an option..... After 10 days negotiating with Christina Rockwood (manager) she sold the bike we had made a deal on even after she ran my credit through several different leinders and got financing approved for me. I offered to pay a depot to hold the bike for me because I knew I could get a better interest rate with my local bank and she told me that a deposit was not necessary because she and everyone there knows she got me approved and we have deal. I told her on a Wednesday afternoon I would call her on Friday from my bank with drafting instructions and she said not problem the bike is mine.. well I called her from my bank on Friday at 1:30 pm with the drafting instruction and was told she was in a meeting and was told she would call me back. I also let them know I was at my bank and waiting. I waited for 1.5 hrs and she never called so before I left the bank at 3:30 pm (2hr wait) I called again leaving a second message with my loan officer info and was told she was still in a meeting and they would give her my second message. I went back to work thinking everything was getting handled and making arrangements to drive down the next day to get the bike. My loan officer called me at 5:45 pm and said she still hasn't heard from the dealer and also told me that it will have to wait until Monday as it was getting to late in the day. I finally got thru to Christina at 6:05 pm that same Friday and she told me she was sorry but she had sold the bike to someone else that morning...... are you kidding me.... after she dinged my credit score by having I think it was 4 different lenders getting me approved and also telling me a deposit was not necessary.... well she obviously lied...didn't care...unable to keep her word....sold the bike out from underneath me... DO NOT TRUST THIS DEALER!!!!. I can provide our saved emails and text messages to corroborate this entire negative review.. take my advice and shop somewhere else.........SCREEN SHOTS I HAVE ADDED TO THIS REVIEW PROVE CHRISTINA ROCKWOOD IS A LAIR. SHE DID NOT RETURN MY CALL UNTIL THE NEXT DAY (SATURDAY) TELLING ME SHE SOLD...
