BEWARE!!! You’ll need to bathe in Purell after leaving this Winn Dixie. On the outside, it looks nice, new and clean. Once you walk through the doors, you are greeted with a large array of produce. I happily walked over to the berries and quickly knew I wouldn’t be purchasing ANY food from this place. The strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, lemons were COVERED in mold. And I’m not being dramatic. There was mold COMPLETELY consuming the fruits. I was in shock that no one of the employees noticed this mess. It was clear as day. And it was also around 4 in the afternoon so it’s not like they just opened and just hadn’t noticed it yet. Attempting to wave someone down, I found one woman, looking like she was on her way out. My husband flagged her down and she loooked at us and kept on walking. We were under the impression that maybe she was done for the day or going to lunch but she waltzed right back in less than a minute later and walked right passed us. Finally a younger employee walked by and I asked her if she worked there. She replied smugly as if I was inconveniencing her. I advised she take a look at this produce and she said “oh wow. I’ll tell someone” and walked away. We watched as a man came over and inspected the berries (by the outside of the container) placing the bad ones in a box even though there was most likely mold covered ones that weren’t visible. Okay, now that that is taken care of.... we decided to check out the rest of the store. We noticed the veggies were all wilted and wrinkled as if they’ve been sitting out for weeks. The zuccinni and bell peppers were wrinkled, the apples were so soft you could stick your finger in them and leave an impression and the mushrooms were soggy. We walked around to the meat/fish section and instantly got salmonella. The meats were discolored and looked dried out. The chicken was something I can’t even explain. It looked matte with a slimey coat over top, the coloring was translucent brown color. The “salmon” looked mushy and was an off white color. Once we saw that, we knew we could not be purchasing ANYTHING from this establishment. If they’re “fresh” foods are this bad, who knows what everything else will be like. After less than 10 minutes, we were walking right back out those doors empty handed. PLEASE don’t buy your food here.. you may end up in the...
Read moreThis is the best Winn-Dixie I've ever had the pleasure of visiting! The staff at this location are the epitome of hardworking and kind individuals who value you not only as a customer but also view you as if you were family! I went by in the morning to buy some pastelitos from the bakery and met with Eduardo at the counter, who had prepared all the stores pastelitos fresh and warm to the touch. I used to live in Miami, and I can say that thanks to Eduardo working here and being such a prolific and highly talented/skilled pastry Chef, I had the opportunity of trying the freshest, warmest, light and flaky, and delicious pastelitos of my life! When my son tried them, he couldn't prevent the sense of nostalgic memories that rushed in from his childhood. His pastelitos are second to none; and in my humble opinion, better than Versailles or any other of the highly recognized bakeries in Miami. In addition, Laura, who also works at the bakery, is so kind and sweet! She greeted me with a big smile and proceeded to package everything for me. Laura's amiableness and genuine kindness of the heart fill you and warm you up almost as much as Eduardo's pastelitos! Moreover, at the cash register I met, Debbie, who immediately greeted me and wanted to make sure that I received any points or coupons that were available to me for the items I was purchasing. I saw her provide the same care and love to all the patrons at the line. Her soft demeanor and tactful comportment are innate qualities that truly make her stand out. Lastly, I went to see the manager, Joan, as I had to provide my gratitude and mention to him how lucky he and Winn-Dixie are to have such wonderful employees working at this location. When I met with him, I could tell that the positive and caring relationship at this Winn-Dixie stems from the rapport and conditions that he also provides and trusts his team to have! I could not be happier to have such a wonderful establishment full of such amazing people near me; where I can count on more than just the food to keep me...
Read moreI always enjoy visiting this Winn-Dixie! The store itself is modern and spotless clean all around! The staff that work here are always jovial and smiling. During my last visit, I had the pleasure to meet, Maria, one of the workers at the deli/pastry counter. She greeted me and offered to help if I had any questions; and immediately there after, she knew by either intuition or sense of acute awareness, what Cuban pastry I was looking for and went with me to find and pick out the best one for my mother! Truly a hardworking and lovely individual that goes above and beyond to make sure that not only her job is completed to perfection, but that the customer is fully satisfied! Additionally, Manuel and Juan at the butchers counter are always working hard and diligently, while making sure that any cut of meat that you wish to buy is sliced to your liking. Moreover, they answer any question you may have and make sure to pick out the best possible cuts for whatever recipe/activity you have planned! This Winn-Dixie is blessed to have such caring and professional employees like Maria, Juan and Manuel, who truly make the company stand out by being a representative embodiment to Winn-Dixie core values...
